Odisha Parthi Yatra, a journey of Love and Gratitude

Around two thousand Youth and a large number of devotees from the state of Odisha, arrived on a three day pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam on 26th Dec 2011. Nagar Sankirtan, Service activities and Spiritual talks were held everyday.

A Gift OF Love…From Little Hearts That Beat For God

And so Christmas celebrations spilled over into Boxing Day. ‘Boxing Day’…the day following the sacred Advent of Christ, received this title perhaps way back during the 17th century, when those that were affluent, keeping in mind the spirit of Christmas, were generous in giving gift boxes to those that had served them. Another theory to this tradition shows that those that were economically challenged in mediaeval England saved money through the year in earthenware boxes, only to be broken up during this time, to share the funds for Christmas Festivities. read more »

The Gift of Love…an offering by International Children

On the third day of the ongoing Christmas celebrations International Children presented a programme entitled “The Gift of Love” at Beloved Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam. Christmas is one of the biggest Christian holy days celebrated throughout the world. Though it is celebrated in almost the same way in all countries, there are still some old unique customs which differ form country to country.

The aim of the Balkan South European countries led by Croatia that took up this monumental task was to present this wonderful event describing the birth of Jesus in a way which will be familiar to all Christians. International Choir comprising over 240 choristers from across the globe presented a scintillating display of devotional singing on the Christmas Eve, on 24th evening in Prasanthi Nilayam. This year also witnessed a change of guard, as experienced and accomplished singer from Munich, Germany, Ms. Gisela Sebastian took over the reins from Ms. Sylvia Alden, conducting the Choir. read more »
