Celestial ‘Sita-Rama Kalyanam’ on Sri Rama Navami…

Where the creation at large becomes His play ground and the totality His Story in essence, aeons ago The Lord Supreme chose to descend enacting a telling tale of Divine drama on planet Earth. This was the Avataric Descend of Lord Sri Ramachandra during the Treta Yuga, thereupon enacting the epic ‘Ramayana’.

Today, in the month of Chaitra, when the auspicious day returns with a festive tag, the occasion assumes greater significance, by being His Story, the nectarine story of The Perfect Persona, Maryada Purushotthama, Who despite being completely Divine, acted HimSelf out as an ordinary man in relentless pursuit of dharmic adherence.

Feasting the special occasion, the Parthi Yatra contingent from Hyderabad has organised a ‘Sita Ramachandra Kalyanam’ in this auspicious morning at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The proceedings commenced at 0800 hrs. with a regal procession carrying the Divine Couple flanked by Brother Lakshmana and Bhakta Hanuman to the venue, a makeshift podium right in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum.

Amidst Veda chanting and to the background score of Nadaswaram, the proceedings went on for almost 100 mts. covering, namely, Sankalpa, Rakshabandhan, Yajnopaveetam, Kanyadanam, Mangalyadharanam, offering of 63 varieties of sweets apart from fruits, interspersed with many a laghu arathi. Tying the nuptial knot, Mangalyadharanam at around 10:00 hrs. marked the fulfilment of the function. An allied laghu homa conducted during the occasion ended with Poornahuthi. Mangala Arathi to the Divine Couple marked the culmination of the Celestial Marriage. The Celestial Marriage is conducted for Loka Kalyanam, for the benefit of entire creation.

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, played on the public address system. Bhagawan spoke on the Rama Principle, that being the embodied form of Chatur Vedas… explaining Rama’s Divinity, Bharata’s Nirakara Bhakti, Lakshmana’s Sakara Bhakti and Shatrughna, who had absolute self control, who followed the three elder brothers with meticulous attention. Speaking on, Bhagawan averred that this is the age of Kalaha, Kalaha Yuga, where disharmony is rampant all over, everywhere. Bhagawan also enlightened on the potency of Rama Nama, that is the common factor among the two major sections of devotees, Vaishnavites and Shaivaites. Remove the ‘Ra’ from “Om Namo Narayanaya” and removed the “Ma” from “Nama Shivaya” and what you get is inauspiciousness, auspiciousness being the missing link of RaMa… enlightened Bhagawan. Bhagawan’s  concluded His Divine discourse with the bhajan, “Rama Rama Rama Sita…”.

A series of Rama bhajans by the Prasanthi boys followed next and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
