Maha Poornahuthi Offered…
Saturday, September 30th, 2017
Week-long Dasara Saptaha Jnana Yajna came to a grand culmination this morning with the offering of Maha Poornahuthi at the Poornachandra Auditorium in Prasanthi Nilayam. The sacred Yajna that has been a regular feature in Prasanthi Nilayam for many years had the highest privilege of having the Supreme Yajna Purusha HimSelf accepting the Poornahuthi offering in the yester years, physically in the form of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.
This morning the proceedings at the Yajna Vedhi commenced at 0620 hrs and continued until 0815 hrs before the rithwiks left for sacred bath. Soulful bhajans filled the air for half-an-hour until the rithwiks returned in a procession, carrying the Poornahuti samagri (paraphernalia related to the final function).
Maha Poornahuthi was offered to the Yajna Purusha at 0845 hrs to the accompaniment of high-pitch Vedic incantation. Vigorous Veda chanting and other rituals continued for the next over fifty minutes.
Devoted assembly got an additional whiff of grace. Even as bhajans started, priests along with Vedam boys dispersed into many groups sprinkling the ‘sanctified water’ upon the blessed confluence.
Maha Mangala Arathi at 0940 hrs marked the end of the morning proceedings.
