Holy Guru Purnima…

Greater joy of adoration of the Supreme Lord, The Guru or all gurus, engulfed Prasanthi on the auspicious Guru Purnima morning here in Prasanthi Nilayam today. Guru Purnima has been a doted festival in the Prasanthi for many years with The Supreme Compassionate Lord allowed devotees to pay homage to Him, worshipping HIM as the Supreme Teacher.

This morning’s programme commenced at 0820 hrs., after 20 mts. of Rudram chanting, with the Institute Percussion Band playing some sonourous notes heralding the advent of the festivity, greeting Beloved Bhagawan.

From percussion to vocal…Singing Band from the Institute took over the proceedings with “Guru Vandana” singing paeans to the Guru. They began with Gurupaduka Strotram, offering homage to the SadhGuru that was followed by a couple of Carnatic pieces, a Hindustani one and an enthralling Sitar Instrumental.

An introduction to the ensuing session followed, by Sri KM Ganesh, Doctoral Research Scholar, Dept Of Chemistry, SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam. Speaking first, Sri Sathyajith, who is currently heading the Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini Programme, began with a mention of the poignant memories of His Touch Of Love. He then gave a detailed account of Bhagawan’s 85th Birthday gift, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini, that is designed to impart “Education For All…Education By All…”

Giving a brief account of the inception and  inspiration received from Bhagawan, the speaker remembered with gratitude of the assistance being received from various corporates especially in the area of Informaton Technology.  Listing out objectives of the Programme, he further elaborated stastical details of progress being achieved in the front, in spreading the unique model education to the length and breadth of the nation.

The first speaker for the morning was Dr Srikanth Sola, a man of excellence in Medical profession and in the world of spirituality; Dr Sola is currently working as Cardiac Consultant, Dept Of Cardiology, SSSIHMS, Whitefield, Bangalore.

Speaking of the 4 Fs, often quoted by Bhagawan, that one needs to follow in pursuit of spiritual excellence, the inspirational speaker narrated, quoting his own example of following the first of the 4 Fs, Follow The Master, as to how he often ended up excelling in various fronts. Once you follow the Master, rest of the 3 Fs are well taken care of said Dr Sola guiding the audience as to how to Follow The Master.

The second speaker was Prof Dalton de Souza Amorim, presently a Full Professor at University Of Sao Paulo and Zonal Chair for Zone 2B, corresponds to South America. Prof Dalton’s speech was organisation-oriented, speaking about the various service and spiritual activities being done under the auspices of Sri Sathya Sai Organisations – Worldwide. Speaking about the responsibility and challenges posed by Sai devotees, especially the ones who are holding positions in the organisation, the speaker stressed that His life has to become our message. Highest spiritual aspiration – realisation seem to be difficult at times, but Bhagawan says, it is our birthright said the Professor ending his speech with the ‘Asathoma’ prayer.

Bhagawan Divine Discours followed next. Bhagawan spoke of Soham Principle, elaborating on the purified auspicious breath that helps man reminding himself of his reality. Soham is Brahmam Principle. Bhagawan also explained in detail of Omkar Mantra, demonstrating how the mantra has be to chanted properly. Bhagawan ended His Divine Discourse with the bhajan “Prema Muditha Manasey Kaho…”

Bhajans continued and Prasadam was distributed before Mangala Arathi offering at 1045 hrs.
