Hyderabad Parthi Yatra Feb 2012

Over 1200 Youth and Children from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Sivam, Hyderabad made a spiritual pilgrimage to Sri Sathya Sai Divya Sannidhi, Prasanthi Nilayam. The delegates participated in the various Mandir activities and satsangs. The youth also organised a workshop on Sai Seva Projects in the region. A bouquet of various cultural presentations by the group lit up the evening sessions in Sai Kulwant hall on 18th and 19th Feb 2012. read more »

Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam, Burra Katha by Alumni

Alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, ably guided by their Guru Sri M. Krishna Bhaskar, who have frequently performed the Burra Katha in Bhagawan’s Divine presence, presented an encore of the ‘Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam’ today to commence the Sivaratri Festivities in Prasanthi Nilayam. Burra in Telugu means skull or head. In this context it refers to a musical instrument similar to a Thambura, with strings and hollow round base similar to the head. ‘Katha’ means story. So Burra Katha is an entertaining musical narrative which consists of small songs, poems and dialogue. But what makes it as popular as it is, is the humorous manner in which the theme is rendered. read more »

Pilgrimage by Tamil Nadu Devotees

Over thousand devotees from Tamil Nadu arrived in Prasanthi Nilayam in two contingents on Feb 10th and 11th 2012 to pay obeisance to Bhagawan. Over 300 village leaders, devotees, balvikas children, parents and gurus from Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu arrived at Prasanthi Nilayam on the 10th morning. The mother tongue of the people of Nilgiris is Tamil and their introduction to Telugu is only through Sai Bhajans. Out of their love to Bhagawan, they have learnt Telugu, the language of the Avatar, and presented the play “Sathya Harishchandra” in the Telugu language this evening in the Sai Kulwant Hall. read more »

Indonesian Delegation at SSSIHL – A Report…

In September 2010, a Peer team from the NAAC (National assessment and Accreditation Council of India) visited the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning for assessment and re-accreditation. The NAAC team were accompanied by couple of observers from the Indonesian Govt to oversee the procedure and methodology of the accreditation process. During their brief day stay here, the two observers were extremely impressed by the unique aspects of education imparted here at the SSSIHL. Chinese New Year in Prasanthi Nilayam…

Every tradition that reaches the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan brings native values and rich cultural heritage, seeking ultimate Divine blessing. Prasanthi Pilgrimage of Delhi Youth 2012

Select Youth from Delhi, many for the first time, arrived for a four day spiritual retreat to Prasanthi Nilayam on 26 Jan 2012. Apart from visiting the many places of interest, the youth also arranged Blood Donation Camps and attended the Nitya Anaadanam (Daily food distribution to villages around Puttaparthi) Project. Narration of experiences of Youth in Seva Projects from other states and countries and interaction with the state president were also held. The youth also viewed documentaries on Bhagawan’s Mission.

Cultural Festival by Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions

After the Sports & Cultural Meet on Jan 11, 2012, the following days witnessed a series of Cultural Presentations by different campuses, exhibiting rich repertoire of talent  among students.  Students from the Brindavan Campus, Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, Sri Sathya Sai Mirupuri College of Music, Anantapur Campus and finally Prasanthi Nilayam Campus presented cultural programmes on 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of January. “Australia Dreaming”, Cultural Presentation by Children from Australia

Underlying the diverse Aboriginal beliefs of Australia is the Lore of spiritual Oneness, which has been passed on through stories, songs, dance and art for over 40,000 years. The Light of Life, the Breath of Love – the essence of the Creator is alive in everything.  Mother Earth, considered the teaching place, is where we come back again and again to learn all Truth and all Knowledge.  Through our interactions with her land, her people, her flora and fauna, we are each given the opportunity to absorb essences that will awaken our Soul to fulfill our bond to remember the Creator and obey the fine regulations of Creation, so that we may return to the Absolute. The theme of this programme was to show the unity between the rich and ancient aboriginal culture of Australia and the timeless teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. read more »
