Colourful Chinese New Year…

Continuing with the Chinese New Year celebrations devotees from Region 4 & 5 of SSSSO – Worldwide comprising of countries Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand presented a colourful cultural evening today here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The programme commenced with a colourful ‘spring’ dance by little children from Malaysia, symbolic of Spring Festival, heralding the joy of the advent of the Happy New Year. After the short dance presentation men and women, in typical Chinese attire, marched towards the Sanctum Sactorum making symbolic offerings as part of the celebrations.
Holy chantings of the Name of Buddha and Bodhisatwa followed next before Dr VK Ravindran, Chairman for Region 4 & 5 of SSSSO delivered a brief speech introducing the speakers for the evening.
Speaking first, Ms Ong Phaik Suan, Chairperson for Sathya Sai Baba Centre, Penang, Malaysia narrated her journey from being a non-devotee to a person who is well established in Bhagawan’s Supreme Divinity. How Bhagawan mysteriously drawn the non-devotee in her unto His fold, in His inimitable style, establishing her in greater faith was the crux of her talk. Having established in greater faith, now Ms Ong is active in the organisation, especially in the EHV front, guiding little children and the youth in the Sai Path established by Bhagawan. Ms Ong have had the unique blessing of having several interviews and interactions with Bhagawan.
Mr Tony Bong from Malaysia, who spoke last, narrated one of his mind-boggling experience with Bhagawan, happened in the early nineties. How the Master Lord proved His omnipresence, that He listens to each and every single sincere prayer of every devotee, revealing his ‘heart’ story inside the interview room was lucidly narrated by Tony Bong, thanking Bhagawan profusely for His mighty presence in his life. On two occasions in his early life, he had called HIm out, remembering Bhagawan, when he had excruciating chest pains, only to get instant relief.
A short dance presentation, entitled Kung Fu Master Dance, by Sathya Sai Group Medan Indonesia along with the children from Nanyang Zhi Hui School, Medan was the final item before the troupe burst into singing melodious bhajans, both traditional Prasanthi numbers as well as Mandarin Chinese versions.
Even as bhajans continued all the participants were felicitated by seniors. Prasadam was distributed and Mangala Arati was offered at 1840 hrs.
