Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna begins…

‘Indian Culture and Spirituality’ has always been a prime agenda in the illustrious Avataric sojourn of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Ever since His grand declaration of Avatarhood in 1940, He has been constantly on the mission, doing everything right that contributes to the conscious evolution of humanity. In this context comes the relevance of the ancient age-old traditions of Yaga and Yajna and the Vedic lore.

At a time when righteous rituals like Yaga and Yajna were seemingly getting extinct from the face of the Earth, and when the holiest of the holies, the sacred Vedic tradition, was ignored to almost oblivion, it was then Bhagawan, with His Divine fore-vision, purposefully initiated the Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna in Prasanthi Nilayam, in 1962.

A dotted festivity ever since its inception at the Divine Hands, Prasanthi Nilayam’s Devi Navaratri festivity had the unique tag of The Supreme Presence of The Supreme Lord in physical, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, until a decade ago. On every annual occasion, like any other festivity, He would preside over the entire celebration that culminates in adorning the throne of the Yajna Purusha on the grand finale, Maha Poornahuthi. What else one could claim than having The Lord Supreme showering such infinite blessing, accepting the offering as the Supreme Lord of all Gods by ‘HimSelf!’

Continuing the sacred tradition, on the 3rd day of the festivity this morning, the seven-day holy Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna got off to a religious beginning amid sacred Vedic incantation, in the everlasting OmniPresence of The Lord Supreme!

The proceedings this morning began quite early in the Mandir with Vedam chanting. The ceremonial Vedic procession of priests and the Prasanthi Vedam group escorting the sacred Kalasha arrived at the venue shortly after 0845 hrs.

The stage was well set at the Poornahchandra auditorium. With Bhagawan seated in His everlasting OmniPresence watching the proceedings over, it was time for kindling the Ceremonial ‘Yajna’ Fire.

The process invokes great interest that involves Agni Manthan, churning of two logs of wood which in friction produce smoke and then fire. Finally, at 0924 hrs, the fire thus generated got sanctified at His Lotus Feet before setting aflame the holy fire pit, the Yajna Kunda, marking the grand commencement of the Yajna.

Braving intermittent rains, a capacity audience assembled at the auditorium witnessing the holy proceedings, strictly following the pandemic regulations.

Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan at 1045 hrs followed after which the Yajna continued.

Year 96 is of utmost significance in ‘His Story’, and the year being the ‘declared’ 96th year of His Advent, let’s wait and watch for the most uncertain blessing in store for humanity and the creation at large. The Lord Supreme, Who rephrased the age-old Vedic intonation of ‘Loka Samastha…‘ in a trice sans any pretension into ‘Samastha Lokah…’, urging humanity to expand its vision praying for all the worlds, has always identified Universal Peace as the goal of the holy seven-day-long Yajna during Dasara.

Supreme Mother Divine is hailed in the sacred Lalita Sahasra Namam as Chidagni Kunda Sambhootha, meaning The Goddess Who originates from the Fire Of Consciousness, symbolising The True Truth.

Let’s tune in, unto Him, unto the Fire Of Consciousness Within, The Chidagni Kunda, Seeking The True Truth called Sai, Sri Sathya Sai!!!

Wishing all a happy, holy, week-long inner Yajna during the festivity, only to carry the mantle on and on, to the hallowed state of Becoming and Being, to Become and Be!!!
