Kalasha Sthapana ahead of Holy Devi Navaratri

Holy Devi Navaratri has come and on an auspicious morning today, sacrosanct Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed the initiating ritual of Kalasha Sthapana marking the auspicious beginning of the nine-day festivity.

The sacred Kalasha was first sanctified at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Sai Kulwant Hall, before escorting to the venue at the bhajan hall for due rituals and subsequent installation.

The Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna, the holy week-long Yajna for world peace will be held at the Poornachandra Auditorium from 19th October until 25th October, the day of Maha Poornahuthi. According to the Hindu calendar, holy Navaratri begins in the autumn of Ashwin Shukla Paksha and lasts for a full nine days, concluding with Vijayadashami or Dussehra.
