Saturday, September 2nd, 2017
As festive Onam celebrations continue in the Divine OmniPresence, this evening on day-1, the session was marked by a guest speech, a special programme on SRP and a musical offering here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Commencing the proceedings, the guest speaker for the day, Dr. J. Letha, Vice Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) delivered a inspiring talk, delving into her own tale of transformation at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet.
Beginning with an account of her maiden Sathya Sai darshan at Whitefield, Bengaluru, Dr Letha narrated in detail what can be called ‘trauma of transcendence’, that she was blessed to experience at the very instant of her maiden darshan of Beloved Bhagawan. Focussing her theme on her ‘experiences with Bhagawan and lessons learnt at His Lotus Feet’, the speaker with varied distinctions then touched upon various segments of progress that her personal self has undergone by meticulously following Bhagawan’s teachings. Ego vanishes into self-confidence and jealousy into inspiration…said the speaker, pondering over her all-round transformation at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet. Dr Letha also spoke of the telling influence Bhagawan’s famous dictum Love All Serve All and the re-intoned Universal Maha Mantra Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu had on her, helping her to expand her love beyond her otherwise limited horizon. Holding high academic accomplishments, Dr J. Letha is the 13th Vice Chancellor of Cusat as well as the first woman to decorate the post. This evening, she was a picture of humility personified, with a heart full of devotional ‘practical’ wisdom.
To be ill is misery and to be healed by Bhagawan is mercy, said Dr Anand Mohan, State Coordinator of SRP, Sri Sathya Sai Rehabilitation Programme for operated ‘cardiac’ patients at the twin hospitals in Whitefield and Prasanthigram speaking on the illustrious SRP project by the State Sathya Sai Organisation. He then delivered a brief report on the epochal project that had its inception in 2009, at the explicit Divine guidance of Bhagawan, Over 200 beneficiaries of the SRP is attending this year’s Onam celebrations at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet.
Sri Sadanandan from Manjery, Malappuram District, one of the beneficiaries of SRP, then shared his feelings in vernacular Malayalam.
Came with a heavy load of financial ‘trauma’ to meet with the expenses of a possible heart operation, Sadanandan is ever grateful to Bhagawan and His hospital for the ‘Love’ that he was made to experience at His behest.Adding to his trauma Sadanandan was not a devotee of Bhagawan. However, after his first ever visit to Prasanthi Nilayam and subsequent visit to the hospital, Sadanandan was freed from all fears. Offering his unending gratitude to Bhagawan, ‘Who’, as per his belief has dissolved all his problems, Sadanandan now wanted to continue his journey serving Bhagawan in His mission.
A musical bouquet by Sri Pandalam Suresh and Party followed next. With rich experience of over three decades of singing, Sri Suresh along with his accompanists regaled the Divine for over the next 50 minutes presenting a wide variety of devotional numbers. Sri Suresh started off with Mahaganapatim… and meandered through with an array of devotionals, in varied tongues, Vijayambike…Vimalambike…, Swagatam Krishna…, Hum Sab Milkar Mangal Gaaye… to name a few. He ended with a customary Mangalam recital. This evening he was accompanied by Biju Anupkrishna on Harmonium, Santosh Samuel on Mridangam and Tabla, Kunnida Sashi on Flute, Vishnu S Sekhar on Violin, Shaji on Ghatam and Rajiv on Vocal.
