Mother & Motherland…Dance Drama by Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Aluva…

Post the morning presentation depicting “Draupadi” as epitome of Motherhood by the Kerala Balvikas, students from Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Aluva, Kerala came up with an enchanting theme of motherhood, presenting a dance drama entitled “Mother & Motherland” this penultimate evening of the ongoing 3-day Onam celebrations here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Paying rich tribute to the most blessed Mother Easwaramma, who is Bhagawan’s Chosen Mother, the drama began with a series dance sequences sequentially offering obeisance to Mother in varied forms, Deha Matha to Desha Matha…, GoMatha to Veda Matha, Bhu Matha to Mother Divine and so on.

Bringing in Bhagawan’s guiding voice of wisdom, directing a tiny tot in utter confusion, the presentation then meandered through illustrious episodes from Bharat’s rich devotional story, depicting the glory of Motherhood.

First came the Shankaracharya episode showing the famed crocodile story, that finally got him a green singnal to enter into monkhood. The mother while permitting her son to enter into sanyas, takes a word from her son, that he should be with her in her dying moments. True to his words, Shankara reaches by her bedside in her decisive moments, standing tall for his exemplary unparalleled devotion to Deha Matha.

Next episode was that of Pundalika, whose devotion to his parents made even Lord Vishnu to wait for a while before blessing His devotee. A mightily please Lord blessed his devotee profusely for his unflinching devotion to his parents.

Nandu’s story next depicted a mother’s plight after having ignored, being ugly, by her own son, only to bring a late transformation in the climactic end. After long years of passing, when the son returns, most casually not with any intended love, he gets a letter from his diseased mother that reveals the fact that, his mother had sacrificed her own eye for the sake of her son, who had met with an accident, spoiling his eyes. Another moment of greater revelation of Mother’s supreme love and sacrifice.

An episode from Lord Rama’s time next depicted the famed maxim by Rama Janani Janma-bhoomi-scha Swargadapi Gariyasi, that He blurted after having offered the Lanka Kingdom by Vibhishana at the end of Ramayana battle. The maxim stands for ultimate love for Motherland as exemplified by The Lord HimSelf.

A final episode was about a youngster who decided between his family and nation. At a time when his sister’s wedding was being organised, he gets a ‘national’ call to report back on duty…And he decides to go on, his foremost preference being Motherland. The family, in utter dismay, failing to get any news from him who was in the thick of war at the border, gets a call from in the nick of time, thanks to Bhagawan’s immense grace.

Beautiful dance and song sequences made the presentation a wonderful treat on the Onam Eve. Multimedia backdrop with thematic sequential scenes made it a perfect match for the dancing students making it even more beautiful. It was a heart-wrenching presentation full of Amma…Amma…Amma…Mother…Mother…Mother…as She Remains Ever The Most Unparalleled Beauty In This Creation.

Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
