Onam With Mother Sai…

Today, on the penultimate evening of the ongoing Onam festivity, where the whole of Kerala is eagerly awaiting the symbolic arrival of its erstwhile Emperor, beautiful children from Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Aluva presented a dance drama entitled “Onam With Mother Sai”. The drama presentation this evening was preceded by twin talks by two eminent bureaucrats, Sri K Jayakumar, IAS (Retd) former Chief Secretary to Govt Of Kerala and currently Vice Chancellor of Malayalam University and Sri KR Jyotilal, IAS, Secretary to Govt Of Kerala.

Addressing first, Sri Jayakumar elucidated on the grandeur and significance of Onam festivity. Recalling the nostalgic beauty of golden Onam of yester years, the speaker lamented at the current plight of the festivity that has been converted into a shopping festival in modern times. Of the 4-Vedic Institutions of Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha, man today is immersed in Artha and Kama leaving away the high profile Dharma and Moksha, opined Sri Jayakumar exhorting the people of Kerala to do a Mahabali, by surrendering their ego at the Feet Of Beloved Bhagawan.

Filled and fulfilled to heart’s content, the Emperor submits a final prayer at His Lotus Feet, beseeching to grant His darshan. Lord Vamana yet again makes His appearance only to enlighten the already enlightened Emperor that in this present age, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai uses His most potent LOVE weapon to help realise the whole of humanity that Pathaala is not a distant land, but the deep recess of every single heart.  The drama presentation was studded with colourful songs and dance sequences.
