Vidya Vahini Celebrations…

A small stream that had a humble, yet magnificent beginning, with invaluable, incalculable, infinite Divine Fore Vision five years ago is at 5 in this 90th year of Bhagawan’s Advent. This is the incredible story of the Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini Prrogramme, launched by the Divine Hands during the grand occasion of Bhagawan’s 85th Birthday, in the year 2010.

A series of programmes are being organised for the next four days in this connection here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.

In a function held in the morning at Sai Kulwant Hall, Sri Satyajit, Project Lead from Prasanthi Nilayam, welcomed the august assembly of trust members, dignitaries, students and devotees, hailing the most commendable progress of the small stream that has grown into a mammoth river, flowing ‘freely’ touching and transforming, blossoming little hearts. Sri KN Radhakrishnan, CEO, TVS Motor Company was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Commenting on the ‘wonderful partners’ in the Vidya Vahini journey, Sri Sathyajit touched upon the selfless, dedicated service being rendered by the Tata Consultancy Services and TVS Motor Company, serving with intellectual acumen.

Education is the most important foundation of transformation in any country, observed the chief guest, delivering a value-oriented speech full of management wisdom. Sri Radhakrishnan then outlined the five key-points of his observations on the project front, which are:  Supreme Importance of Education, Volunteerism, Bhagawan as the Strong Value Foundation, Complete Dedication and Quality Mgmt and Alignment, Integrity and Self-Reflection.

Outlining his ambitious vision for the next five years, the speaker exuded confidence that by the 95th Year of Bhagawan’s Advent, there would be 950 quality schools under the ambitious project.

With Bhagawan in the lead, the ambitious project is never a mission impossible, the speaker exuded confidence, summarizing His Divine Leadership in a single sentence, ‘a thousand hearts with a single Heartbeat.’ SSSVV is going to be in great demand and this project has a definite stake in India’s future, sounded the optimistic speaker.

An exhibition on the project – “Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye” was launched this morning at the Poornachandra Auditorium during the occasion, by the Chief Guest Sri KN Radhakrishnan, attended by Ashram officials and Vidya Vahini team members. The exhibition explains the core philosophy and practice of the Vidya Vahini Programme with a thrust on the four objectives, namely, Insightful, Inspiring, Enjoyable and Participative Education and the four domains of influence: Classroom, Corridor, Campus and Community.

Over 2000 Vidya Vahini children and hundreds of volunteers and parents are in Prasanthi Nilayam in connection with the four-day programme.

Back in the Sai Kulwant Hall, the programme continued with a Musical Offering by the Vidya Vahini children from Sri Sathya Sai Vishwa Vidyalaya, Vandalur, Chennai.

Bhajans continued and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 0930 hrs.
