Sangamam – A Unique Get-Together, Speech and Music…

Day-2 of the ongoing week-long Onam celebrations this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam featured a unique ‘sangamam’ – a get-together of Doctors and Lawyers who are affiliated to various service activities of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations in the State. The highlight of the session was an inspiring speech by Hon. Justice Sri Dama Seshadri Naidu from the High Court of Kerala. This was followed by a Fusion Musical offering by Sri Kanjangad Anoop Bhaskar and Party.

Scan through the activity map of the Sathya Sai Organisations in Kerala and you will find a unique programme – ‘sangamam’, tagged to almost all the district and state level activities, be it medical, legal or pertaining to any other area.  It has been some years since the state unit got into this distinctive mode of service in the areas of Medicare, Legal care and Women care. Sangamam features an exceptional get-together of the beneficiaries of various service areas, recapitulating and commemorating Bhagawan’s Love with hearts full of gratitude.

This evening, the session commenced at 1700 hrs. with a short yet convincing  speech by Hon. Justice Sri Dama Seshadri Naidu. Hailing from Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Seshadri Naidu is one of the youngest judges from the High Court of Kerala.

“I have come all the way from Kochi rather than from Chittoor…,” said the speaker today, narrating his entry to Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet, despite being a native of Chittoor district which is barely sixty kilometers away from Puttaparthi. Comparing himself with a frog in the well that lives in a restrained, limited world, the Justice with the help of an interesting story involving three frogs, said, “… perhaps Baba has graced me today and told me to put an end to my ‘frogship’, and be a honeybee, to go the distance and have the nectar, the nectar of philosophy, the nectar of realisation.” Faith is a big mansion and religions are different halls in the mansion; different gurus and seers have cut different paths and shown different pathways to enlightenment, destination being One, opined the erudite speaker, hinting upon the distillation task by Bhagawan guiding seekers. He will take us to the destination if we have faith in Him, echoed the speaker, ending on a high note.

A Fusion Music session ensued next with Sri Kanjangad Anoop Bhaskar and Party, regaling the evening assembly with an assortment of devotional numbers.

Earlier, ahead of the Narayaneeyam recital as part of the Onam festivity, the idol of Lord Guruvayoorappan was installed in a makeshift podium at the Poornachandra Auditorium this afternoon. Associated rituals and bhajans accompanied the installation ceremony that was attended by hundreds of devotees.

In the evening, the session at Sai Kulwant Hall concluded with bhajans followed by Mangala Arathi.
