Vasant Ras by Manipuri Children…

Two dance offerings, Thougal Jagoi and Vasant Ras Leela featured day-2 of the Manipur Parthi Yatra here in Prasanthi Nilayam today.

Thougal Jagoi, the first programme, depicts the process of creation and evolution of the universe that according to the legend happened at the will Atiya Guru Shidaba, The Lord Supreme.

Children clad in white, with white headgear, yellow waistband, and colouirful garland around, danced to the inciting Manipuri drumbeats celebrating the Divine Sport, offering the beauty of Manipuri spectacle at The Divine Lotus Feet of Beloved Bhagawan.

Manipuri Ras Leela, the second and final programme is the epitome of Manipuri classical dance, interwoven through the celestial eternal Divine Love Story of Radharani and Bhagawan Sri Krishna. The sublime symbolism of the celestial dance points to ultimate truth – jeevatma’s union with the Paramatma.

Presenting a delighting colourful spectacle, scores of gopikas danced around one and only Krishna this evening, exhibiting Vasant Pournami’s celestial spectacle at Sri Krishna Brindavan, in typical Manipuri style.

It was a love-soaked dedicated offering by the beautiful, innocent Manipuri children. Introducing the session, one of the officials narrated the hardships children had to endure in the run-up-to the Parthi Yatra.

A State that is reeling under pressure with internal conflicts and imposed curfews thereon, it was never an easy task to organise children from different parts of the State to assemble at one place for rehearsal, but children did everything silently for the love for Swami… finally travelling in different trains for over three long days, sometimes in general compartments, to reach the Holy Abode.

Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1825 hrs.
