Thai Dance and a ‘Western Salute…’

A ‘Western Salute’, salutation that multiplied into manifold dimensions, engulfing the globe in letter and spirit… Singer of International acclaim, Ms Dana Gillespie of London Blues Band presented a most scintillating devotional evening marking the grand-finale of the week-long 89th Birthday celebrations of Bhagawan today here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Earlier, Dana’s programme was preceded by a gracefully aesthetic Dance offering by the little students of Sri Sathya Sai School, Thailand. The programme truly reflected the rich cultural diversity of Thailand, often referred to, in Sai-parlance, as ‘Sailand’. The colourful programme was a combined form of presentation of the five geographically distinct faces of Thailand. It was a short but sweet presentation with rich cultural diversity.

Dana Gillespie who took over, swayed around, singing in her inimitable fashion, muttering ‘Universal Themes’ of Love…Peace…Unity singing for over 45 minutes. Every song from the acclaimed celebrity singer was rich with meaning, reflecting Bhagawan’s messages.  Truly, Bhagawan with Whom the singer had amazing interactions had blessed her with a promise that, I Will give you spiritual diamonds and you will spread them around the world, hinting at her task of ‘singing’ His messages around the world.

Dana’s compilations had ‘Would You Like To Come With Me…’, ‘Unify…”, “Put On Love…”, “Giving Out To Everyone…”, “The Promise…”, Love Is The Net… and “In The Garden Of Heavenly Peace…”…and the graceful singer ended her concert in style offering a million salutations, singing the bhajan ‘Guru Nanak Ji Ki Jai Jai…’ adding a tailpiece in Anglican, for the benefit of the western devotees, to sing with ‘meaning’.

At intermissions, the singer explained about her compilations, bringing great clarity to her ‘voice’, detailing the background and purport of each song.

Indeed, ‘Fragrance Of Pure Love’ was in the air; the Love Of Divine Romance… Love For Mother Sai… A perfect end to the grand festivity of 89th Birthday Of Beloved Mother Sai…

The artiste and the children from Thailand were felicitated at the end  of the session. Bhajans commenced and ended with Bhagawan’s Bhajan “Subramaniam Subramaniam…”. Mangala Arathi at 1615 hrs. marked the end of the proceedings.

A grand culmination to the 89th Birthday celebrations…
