Musical Offering by Pt Debashish Battacharya…

Noted exponent of lap slide guitar, an innovative version of the popular western musical instrument, Pt Debashish Battacharya along with his fellow musicians offered a soulful musical evening during the second session of Aradhana Mahotsavam yesterday.
Titled ‘Yaadein’ or “Memories Of Divine Spirit’ the programme consisted of songs specially composed by the Pandit, of lingering memories of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.
With his sister Anandi on vocal, brother Subashish on Tabla along with Vishal Pandey on Electric Guitar and Pavan Mahajan on Keyboard the troupe produced an evening of soulful music, a mix of east and west, paying rich tribute to The Master Whom the artist hailed as The Father, The Mother, Mentor and God Himself…Avatar!!!
Beginning with a Ganesha offering the compositions for the evening included Karunamayi Sai Sathya Sai Sundaram… Reflections Remains…etc. The one-hour presentation was interlaced with commentary by the Pandit narrating the tone and tenor of the composition, dwelling into his wonderful memories of Beloved Bhagawan.
At the end, all the artistes were felicitated by Senior Trust members. Bhajans continued and ended with Thursday Special, Bhagawan singing “Prema Muditha Manasey Kaho…” .
Mangala Arathi at 1850 marked the end of the proceedings.
