Summer Course 2013 gets underway…

8 June 2013, Prasanthi Nilayam: A couple of speeches and musical offerings marked the first evening of Summer Course 2013 of SSSIHL this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The evening proceedings began with Vedic invocation at 1720 hrs. followed by an introductory speech by Sri Srikanth Khanna, Doctorl Research Scholar at Prasanthi Nilayam Campus. Presenting the legend of Summer Course in SSSIHL, Sri Khanna introduced the speakers and programme to be followed.

Continuing the proceedings Ms Vidya Jayakumar from the Anantapur Campus of SSSIHL read out the summary of proceedings for the first day at the Summer Course.

Two speakers for the evening were Sri Dhruv Vyas of III BA and Sri G Aditya of I MFM, from Prasanthi Nilayam and Brindavan Campuses respectively.

Through service man should transform himself into Divine, said the first speaker deliberating on the topic “Transformation – True Sign Of Devotion”. Elaborating on the subject with effective illustration the young speaker picked up to narrate a beautiful tale from the life of Bhagawan Sri Krishna, explaining who is the dear most devotee of the Lord and how to bring in effective transformation.

Deliberating on the theme ‘Culture Is Concern For Others’, the second speaker G Aditya spoke entwining his simple yet ‘straight from the heart’ eloquence with some of the moving tales from the hallowed portals at Bhagawan’s Institute. Narrating a beautiful tale that happened in the same venue, with Bhagawan seated on the dais, the speaker narrated how Bhagawan taught Him, as he was distributing Laddu Prasadam, how He is concerned with the happiness and well-being of each and every devotee gathered over there. Comparing the little squirrel’s heavenly fortune during the time of Rama Avatar, the speaker said that the same Rama has come down as Sai Rama showing the same concern to each and every devotee of His, amidst loud applause.

A music session continued wherein the budding students from the Muddenahalli Campus followed by Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri College Of Music, Prasanthi Nilayam shared the honours, singing two songs apiece.

Earlier, Summer Course In Indian Culture & Spirituality – 2013 got underway this morning in the Poornachandra Auditorium amidst serene prayerful ambience. After invocatory Vedic chanting Registrar, SSSIHL, Dr Naren Ramji delivered the welcome address that was followed by the Inaugural Address by Prof J Shasidhara Prasad, Vice Chancellor Of SSSIHL. Two talks followed next, by Sri Sanjay Sahni, Director at the Brindavan Campus who deliberated on the subject “Lessons From The Ramayana For Modern Society” followed by Kum Lalitha Sarma R, Research Scholar, Dept Of English Language & Literature on the subject “Lessons From The Mahabharata For Modern Society”. A short video presentation next was followed by two interactive sessions, Bhajan Antakshari and Study Circle.

Apart from the students from the four campuses, higher secondary students from Prasanthi Nilayam campus and 10th standard students from Sri Sathya Sai Gurukulam, Rajahmundry are also participating in the three-day Summer Course.

Back in the Sai Kulwant Hall, bhajans continued and Mangala Arathi was offered at 1850 hrs.
