Divine Voice On Unity Of Faiths Echoes…

When the Symposium on Unity of Faiths continued post lunch session, two more speakers shared the podium addressing the gathering. Sri Srirangarajan introduced the two speakers. Before the speeches an excerpt from Bhagawan’s Discourse on the concept of unity was again aired in the public address system. The first speaker was Fr. Dominic Emmanuel, Spokesman and Director, Delhi Catholic Archdiocese and the second speaker Dhammachari Dr. B.V. Rajaram of Mahabodhi Society, Bangalore.

Fr. Dominic Emmanuel said India stands for unity in diversity. Whoever tries to break the unity of India will not succeed. It always stands for unity in diversity for the rest of the world. The learned speaker was enamoured with the concept of unity of religions in this place. Right from the throne to every place in Prasanthi Nilayam is filled with the concept of unity of religions. He concluded his speech by saying, “Let the words of great men and women be imprinted in our hearts so that we translate them into service.”

Before the speech of Dhammachari Dr. B.V. Rajaram, there was another extract from a Divine Discourse of Bhagawan on the theme of Unity Of Faiths. Paying his homage to Bhagawan, Dr. Rajaram opined that Buddha came into the world as a human being to serve. Speaking on the significance of Guru Purnima, the speaker said, whoever gives the truth, there are thousands of saints and sages, we pray to them. That is Guru Purnima. Speaking on the teaching of Buddha, Dr. Rajaram said to avoid all evil, to cultivate good qualities and to cleanse one’s mind is Buddha’s profound teaching. He concluded by saying that we should give to every human being our goodness, that is Maitri.

The proceeding of the evening session ended with another clip from Bhagawan’s Discourse on the said concept. After Bhajan and Mangala Arati, the session came to a close.
