Vijaya Chaitanya Parthi Yatra by Vizianagaram District

Over 1300 Devotees from Vizianagaram arrived in Prasanthi Nilayam on 22nd Dec 2011 on a 3 day pilgrimage. They conducted a Mahanagar sankirtan ( a congregational chanting of the Holy Names) on the 22nd evening outside the Ashram.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Vratams were held on 23rd Morning while a musical dance drama entitled, “Palle Sevaye Paramatmuni Seva” was performed in the Sai Kulwant Hall in the evening.

The drama depicted how Sai Youth bring transformation in villagers and even prisoners with their selfless service. The drama was based on real life incidents that happened in the village “Banadi” in vizianagaram district and Central Jail in Visakapatnam.

Jalgayya, a wealthy person in the village, exploits the innocence of the villagers and encourages them to take up activities which are neither useful to them nor the village while Vinayam, an wise gentleman, strives for the upliftment of the villagers and the development of the village. At this juncture, Sai Youth enter the village and promise to build a borewell in one day. They quote the example of the Village Banadi, where Bhagawan’s word transformed an unfit water containing 3% fluoride to a purely deflourinated water. They advice the villager Samhadri to join his son in the Sri Sathya Sai Kendram at Banadi, where free education and food are being provided by the Sai Youth irrespective of caste and creed.

Meanwhile Sekharm, the son of Jalagayya, arrives in the village and advises the villagers to tread the path of love and service. He narrates how his life in prison has become a boon for his transformation with the guidance and encouragement of Sai Youth. Realising his mistake, Jalagayya vows to change his house into Prasanthi Nilayam, a home for everyone. The drama concludes with the children of the village dancing to the music of glory, the glory of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

The skit was preceded by a talk by the district president Sri. Damodar Rama Mohan Rao who after profusely thanking Bhagawan for His grace and blessings, spoke about the illustrious history of the district. He then spoke about the recent lag in development and the need to strengthen the spiritual and service activities to bring the people together towards a better society by the grace of Bhagawan.

A tour of the various places of prominence in Puttaparthi was held on the 24th. Sat Sang sessions where the devotees come together and share their experiences and lessons learnt at the lotus feet of the Master were held on both evenings.
