23rd Nov 1926

23rd November 1926, is a day that saw the dawn of a Divine Saga and went on to ensconce itself into the open arms of History, as the day the Avatar chose to be born upon Mother Earth.

The One Who established Himself at Shirdi, That Eternal Essence, now decided to pronounce Puttaparthi as a land most holy, rendered so by the touch of His petal soft Lotus Feet.

According to the assurance given to Rishi Bharadwaj, with regard to a Triple Incarnation, Lord Shiva and Mother Shakti, continued their sojourn in this, the second emergence of the Trinity that would grace Earth during the extremely volatile age of Kali Yuga.

This most magnificently dynamic, stunning, superlative and spectacular manifestation of Shiva and Shakti, willed Itself to be known as Sri Sathya Sai Baba, thereby endearing Himself to innumerable hearts, much as He had done in eras gone by as Rama and Krishna and Shirdi Sai.

Depending on their ‘one to one’ rapport, connection and bonding, some lovingly called out to Him as ‘Baba’, others referred to Him as Swami, while so many knew Him to be Bhagawan and there are those whose cherished personal experiences revealed Him to them as Beloved Mother Sai.

“LOVE must express itself as SERVICE.”

And so, His Love untiringly expresses itself through myriad noteworthy ‘no price’ priceless Projects – Schools, Universities, General and Super Speciality Hospitals, Pipelines for Pure Drinking Water that traverses thousands of kilometers reaching millions of thirsty villagers, Food, Clothing, Shelter, over and above granting grace, support, sustenance, succour, solution and solace to millions across the globe at any given time.

Never was there an Avatar so freely accessible to mankind, so approachable and within reach granting Darshan, Sparshan, Sambhashan so constantly.

Unfathomable and countless are the simultaneous experiences of numerous people residing in far off lands, notwithstanding the wide expanse of Ocean, Air and Earth…each one encountering and holding close, an unusual experience – mystical, material or otherwise of His immeasurable grace, constant presence and unconditional love, proving true that ‘He is to you what you seek in Him’ – Mother, Father, Sibling, Friend, Companion, Guide or simply a Beloved One…

Yes, even as we do face a period of heartache and void, which is but natural, when that Beloved Form is not visible to the sight, that Formless Presence, that Energy Sublime, ‘felt’ by each cell of the being cannot be negated or relegated to the background but comes to the fore taking its place at ‘center stage’.

Nothing can surpass the Sankalpa, the Will of the Lord and none can determine His Will.

But a pure heart, intense yearning, resolute focus and practice of timeless tenets, unwavering faith and steadfast patience can work wonders for the culmination of hope.

Can one ever give up Hope…?

Hope is an eternal whisper that finds respite in memories divine, longing for a homecoming of treasured times.

When our yearning meets with celestial consent there is no stopping the forceful flow…that acquiesce… of Divine Grace.

For the drama of each life, each soul, Beloved Bhagawan is the Sole Scriptwriter, Director and Actor too. The screenplay is His exclusive domain and an undisclosed secret and there are certainly no copyrights. Though the lessons we learn in the playground of the Universe to a great extent could have a positive bearing on the script.

History is ever waiting with a smile, as does each day in the Present with bated breath, to be as blessed as 23rd November 1926.

“That is the day of My birth, when I am born in your hearts.”

“Plant the seeds of Love in your hearts. Let them grow into trees of Service and shower the sweet fruit of Ananda. Share the Ananda with all. That is the proper way to celebrate the Birthday.”

Let us pray that may Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Selfless Service, Universal Brotherhood and Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu be born in all hearts, that we may wish, Beloved Bhagawan – an uninterrupted ‘Happy Birthday’.

Let each day be a 23rd November…and each hopeful moment a celebration of His most definite distinct Presence.
