Come Devi Navaratri, it is time to feast The Mother Divine. Prasanthi Nilayam that has a rich festive tradition is already feasting the special occasion, basking in the incomparable glory of Beloved Mother Sai. Today, on the second day of the ongoing Devi Navaratri festival, students of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College Of Music, Prasanthi Nilayam offered a musical bouquet entitled Achintya Rupini SaiMaa at the Sanctum Sanctorum here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Beginning with “Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu…”, the next offering was “Samaja Varagamana…”, a St Thyagaraja composition in Rag Hindolam, set to Aditalam. A Sitar ensemble followed next, serenading The Supreme Lotus Feet, singing “Manasabhajare GuruCharanam…”. “Bigidi Meri Bana De O Sherawali Maiyya…” next was a beauty of Sufi devotional. “Parvata Rajakumari Sri Parvati Pahimam…” next in Raga Sriranjani set to Aditalam turned out to be a professional treat for the Friday evening assemblage that was followed by a medley of 10 ragas singing paeans to the ‘One Mother With Varied Names And Varied Forms’, singing “Maateshwari Parameshwari…”. The final number was an Abhang of St Thukkaram in Rag Bhairavi, singing “Swami Kripakari Karna…”.
Bhajans by the Music College students continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
