Musical ‘Unity In Diversity’ In Prasanthi Nilayam As Onam Signs Off In Style…

Three-days Prasanthi Onam celebrations came to a grand culmination this evening, marked by a host of events. The session had a talk, Gold Medal distribution, a Fusion Music and not the least, Bhagawan’s Divine discourse aired on the public address system.
Commencing the session, Hon’ble Justice PB Suresh Kumar of the High Court Of Kerala, addressed the assembly speaking of his life, as to how his life has been His Divine Design. Being a Judge is never an easy task, but by His grace, his professional journey has always been smooth, as credit goes to Bhagawan alone, said the speaker narrating an interesting incident of delivering justice for a needy child. In conclusion, he hoped that ‘let the festive Onam help man to raise his lever of righteousness.’
Bhagawan’s Divine discourse next was on the theme of Truth and Righteousness, referential highlight being that of exemplary life of Emperor Mahabali. Human values have lost and this is the cause for unrest in present day, said Bhagawan exhorting man to follow the path of love. All that we experience in this ephemeral world is temporary; the only Truth is the principle of the Self.
Annual winners of Essay Writing Competition held at college and school level were felicitated next with Sri Sathya Sai Gold Medals. Sri RJ Ratnakar, member, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust presented the winners with the awards and medals. The winners for the year are, Kum Aparna G. Krishnan from Vijaya Matha Convent HS School, Chittoor, Palakkad for the High School level, Kum Kasturi Shah, Saraswati Vidyalaya, Vattiyurkavu, Thiruvanantapuram for the Higher Secondary level and Kum Anita Tajuddin, Govt. Victoria College, Palakkad for the collegiate-level.
Over 40000 students from 1300 educational institutions participated in this year’s competition held under three distinct themes. The topics were, Lessons Learnt From My Parents, As Is The Individual So Is The Society, The Culture Of The Place Is Defined By The Respect Given To The Women Of That Land for high school, higher secondary and collegiate levels respectively.
Marking the grand finale, a scintillating fusion musical offering entitled ‘Bala Leela Spiritual Waves’ was offered by the famed Sri Balabhaskar Chandran & Party. A musical exponent in absolute sync with his profession, Balabhaskar and fellow musicians presented an enlightening evening of Musical Unity In Diversity. With seven musicians on the stage, playing seven different instruments, it turned out be an electrifying, rhythmic musical shower for the evening assemblage with Bhagawan.
The hour-long presentation had along with other numbers, Krsna Nee Begane…, Partheeshwar Jagat Janai… one of the Prasanthi Mandir Bhajans.
Traditional and innovative, energising and enterprising, Prasanthi Onam 2017 signed off in grand style, leaving a feeling of completeness, filled and fulfilled.
A Violinist in his initial days, Balabhaskar is one of the first musicians to introduce Indo-Western fusion in Kerala. This evening, he was accompanied by Sarvasree Abhijit Sreenivas on Guitar, Rajit George on Keyboard, Bombay Ganesh on Mridangam, Vellathanjur Sreejith on Ghatam, Prasanth on Tabla and Payyanur Govind Prasad on Morsing.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
