Monday, January 16th, 2017
Richly talented, highly motivated, heart-fully dedicated team of faculty and students of Sathya Sai Music College musical feasts are a regular feature of Prasanthi Nilayam calendar. This evening, after the spectacular Sports and Cultural Festivities that concluded yesterday, the experienced bunch of musicians along with the budding talents from the Music College offered a bouquet of Carnatic devotionals in a programme entitled “Bhakti Samrajyam” here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. Dedicated to the poet-saint Thyagaraja, the programme today coincided with the ongoing ‘Thyagaraja Aradhana’ being held in Thyagaraja’s birthplace, at Thiruvaiyaru, Tamil Nadu.
From the first piece of Ganesh Vandana, SriGanapathinee Sevimpara… till the final piece ‘Endaro Mahanu Bavulu…”, the one hour-long concert had some of the gems of Thyagaraja, enthralling The Lord, Whose ‘compositions and voice’ as the One and Only Force and The Source are being sung all along, at all time, in all forms, all around, by all. The compilation for the evening included Jagadananda Karaka…, Saadinchene, a Veena instrumental, etc. Both the faculties and the blossoming talents participated, singing together, exhibiting the immense potential well backed by unceasing grace of Bhagawan. Music flowed from hearts many, suffused with immense love and gratitude… well received by an audience that sat in rapt attention.
Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi at 1815 hrs.
