Saturday, October 18th, 2014
Oct 17, Prasanthi Nilayam: Prasanthi ‘flagged-off’ one truck load of relief materials, as immediate relief, to the cyclone affected Visakhapatanam today. Central Trust member Sri RJ Ratnakar and Trust Secretary Sri Prasad Rao were present on the occasion. The truck laden with 2000 dhotis, 5000 blankets, and 5000 sarees started off from Prasanthi Nilayam at 1645 hrs., after offering Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha were badly affected last week after severe cyclonic storm ‘Hudhud’ hit the twin states, taking away precious lives, live stocks and properties. This aid from Prasanthi Nilayam is in addition to the massive seva operations being done by the State unit of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations.
Essential items like drinking water sachets, milk powder, biscuits, candles, match-boxes etc., are being distributed in Visakhapatanam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, starting from 14th October. Disaster Management Team of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations is in the forefront of relief operations, ably assisted by thousands of Sevadal volunteers.
