Maha Poornahuthi…
Friday, October 3rd, 2014
Maha Poornahuthi was offered into the sacred fire-pit in the Poornachandra Auditorium this morning marking the grand culmination of the week-long Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna in Prasanthi Nilayam.
In the Poornachandra Auditorium, this morning’s rituals began at 0645 hrs. and came to a temporary halt at 0900 hrs., as the priests proceeded for sacred bath. Bhajans continued for half-an-hour.
Ritwiks received the Poornahuti samagri (paraphernalia related to the final function) in the bhajan hall before proceeding in a procession to the venue. Setting the stage for the grand finale, the ‘priestly’ procession carrying the Dhaarini (a large silver spoon for feeding ghee to the Yajna fire) entered the Yajna Vedhi at 0930 hrs., to the escort of Veda chanting and Nadaswaram.
With a packed audience watching the proceedings, with The Yajna Purusha, Bhagawan, presiding over in His omnipresent form, the Maha Poornahuthi was offered into the sacred fire-pit at 0940 hrs. Subsequently, ghee was added into the sacred fire, streaming through the silver spoon enhancing the flames. Vigorous Veda chanting and other rituals continued for another half-an-hour before the culmination. This blessed venue had for many years adorned the beautiful Divine Form of The Yajna Purusha, clad in burning red, presiding over the function on many such Vijaya Dasami occasions over the past over three decades.
Devoted assembly got an additional whiff of grace; even as bhajans started, priests along with Vedam boys dispersed into many groups sprinkling the ‘sanctified water’ from the Yajna upon the blessed confluence.
Mangala Arathi was offered at 1030 hrs. marking the end of the proceedings.
Grama Seva 2014 also came to a grand culmination this morning here in Prasanthi Nilayam. Marking the grand finale of the seven-day Karma Yajna, women students from the Anantapur campus served the inmates of Ashram with Bhagawan’s Prasadam in the morning, post Poornahuthi. Students from the Anantapur campus along with faculties have this rare privilege of serving the Ashram residents, an honour bestowed upon by Bhagawan, ever since the inception of Grama Seva in the year 2000.
Students and staff along with hundreds of women devotees from in and out of Prasanthi precincts have also been active throughout the week, during night hours, packing and arranging the Prasadam.
Resonant vibrational chanting that echoed in the Prasanthi precincts prevailed on, subtly enhancing the spirit, bringing His mighty Will into effect… Peace For All… Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu.
Holy Vijaya Dasami’s godliness has a rare tale of enhanced sanctity as this was the very day Bhagawan at Shirdi chose for His ‘Seemolanghan’…withdrawal of His earthly Avataric form…
