Welcoming The New Year…

Prasanthi Nilayam welcomed the New Year with a scintillating Band display followed by an eloquent speech by one of the alumni in this wonderful New Year morning today.
Beginning the proceedings in the morning, the University Band presented an assortment of seven musical pieces that included western and indian numbers. Bringing the house down with sheer brilliance and innovation, the troupe with its professional display received rapturous applause from the capacity morning crowd, especially for its final piece. Playing a couple of popular Western numbers followed by Indian, that included bhajans, the troupe signed off in style playing an interesting final piece, blending the east with the west , inserting India’s classical vocal along with Buddhist chants. Budding violinsts from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School also joined the seniors for the final three pieces.
Next to come was an interesting speech by Amitabh Dasgupta, a alumnus, who had his entire edcuation at Bhagawan’s hallowed portals in Prasanthi. Reminiscing a couple of beautiful personal experiences that had Bhagawan’s Touch Of Love, Amitabh, representing the entire block of Alumni offered rich gratitude at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet for making them what they are today.
Bhajans continued and on the sidelines alumni made a beeline to the Sanctum Sanctorum for group photo sessions.
Mangala Arathi at 10 hrs. marked the end of morning’s proceedings.
Evening Session:
Words of appreciation with even ‘superlatives’ fail to express the high-standard on par professional talents of Bhagawan’s Sathya Sai Students. This beautiful evening bore testimonty to this high class multifaceted act of Sathya Sai Students when they came up with a scintillating band display followed by Music and Dance.
Continuing from where they stopped in the morning, the programme commenced with a Band Display by the Alumni that again rocked the house. Nurtured their talents at The Lotus Feet Of Beloved Bhagawan, they returned for the New Year only to offer back what He had taught them over the years. Beginning with the popular Eashwar Hey Allah… the band had a saxophone ‘duet’ and a couple of more numbers to offer before giving way to the Prasanthi Dance Troupe.
Taking over, the Prasanthi Dance Troupe, again nurtured in person by Bhagawan Himself, brought forth an array of thematic dance offerings, beginning with a Sai Ganesha Vandana. Next to come was a classic depiction of the Dasavatars of Lord Vishnu, followed by Ramji Ki Sawari. Khanda Kandanthara in Bhagawan’s own voice followed, depicting National fervour before ending the offering with a rollicking Dandalayya…Shata Koti Dandaalu…offering millions of saltuations to the Divine Master, Beloved Swami.
Music session with an assortment of songs followed next before Mangala Arathi at 1900 hrs. marking the end of the session.
