Guru Pournima At The Holiest Of Holies…

Esteemed beyond compare by virtue of her special status, being The Abode Of Lord Supreme, Prasanthi Nilayam always embraced Guru Pournima with unbounded spiritual passion, celebrating the occasion many a time in the immediate Divine Presence Of The Selfsame Master Supreme. Today, when Guru Pournima returned to Prasanthi yet again, it is this reminiscent immaculate reflection of The Supreme Incarnate engulfed the hallowed precincts that had woven innumerable tales with The Master Supreme.
When the auspicious morning dawned with a touch of nostalgia, the curtains of Bhagawan’s Sanctum Sanctorum remained open for a brief session during the Omkar Suprabhatam, granting the bliss of darshan to the mass of devotees, evoking innate nostalgic feelings.
This morning’s special session commenced with regular Vedic incantations followed by a brief spell of percussive melody by the Institute ‘Percussion’ band playing some holistic notes heralding the advent of Guru Purnima, greeting SadhGuru Sri Sathya Sai.
Musical band took over next with “Guru Vandana”, singing Gurupaduka Strotram, followed by a string of devotionals namely, “Namo Sathya Sai Baba… Namo Sathya Sai…”, “Ganga Jaisa Nirmal Pavan, Yamuna Jaisa Pyara Pyara…”, “Sai Nama Smaranam… Sai Roopa Dhyanam…”, “SadhGuru Sai Nath Hamare…”, “PandariNatha Govinda…”, “Easwaraambaa Sutam… Vande Sathyam JagadGurum…”, “Gurur Brahma Neeve… Param Jyothi Neeve…” to end with a Qawwali, “Tere Darbar Me Hum Aaye Yaham…”.
Sri Nimish Pandya, Vice President, Sri Sathya Sai Organisations – India addressing the assembly, emphasised on the absolute need of ‘Unconditional Love’, the crux of Bhagawan’s teachings. To be part of His Divine Mission is the greatest opportunity and one should be ever ready to utilise the platform of Sri Sathya Sai Organisations, urged the Vice President emphasizing on practice, the hallmark of spiritual sadhana.
George Bebedelis, an alumnus of Athens University, and office bearer of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – Greece delivered a quality ‘wisdom’ speech next, with rare sparks of ‘practice’ from his own life. The westerner spoke, quoting Indian scriptures and teachings with elan, citing Bhagawan and Sanskrit slokas often, divulging on the essence of man’s ultimate goal, Atma Jnana.
The earnest seeker from Greece entertained the assembly with his lucid recital of Telugu and Sankrit hymns, spark of yearning for Ultimate Truth. He concluded singing, “Love Is My Form… Truth Is My Breath…”. George was well received by the appreciative audience who burst into rapturous applause for his simple, straightforward ‘wisdom’ speech.
Bhagawan’s in His Divine discourse, referring to Sadhana and Navavidha Bhakti, exhorted devotees to follow the path diligently, without giving up, ensuring success. Man is wasting time owing to ignorance. God Is time, Master of time and transcends time, reminded Bhagawan adding that the wisdom that comes out of suffering lasts forever as true bliss is present in difficulties and trouble alone. In this context Bhagawan also narrated Mother Kunthi’s story of seeking difficulties until her last breath. The Divine discourse came to an end with the bhajan “Prema Muditha Manase Kaho Rama Rama Ram…”
As Bhajans commenced, students from the Primary and Easwaramma Schools made a beeline to the Sanctum Sanctorum offering their ‘hadiwork’ at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet.
Mangala Arathi at 1100 hrs. brought the curtain down for the enlightening morning session.
