Exclusive Covid Centre set in motion at Prasanthigram

Joining hands with the governmental efforts to help the affected during the current medical emergency, the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram, has set in motion a completely functional COVID centre at Prasanthigram today.

Earlier, in the month of April, during the initial onset of the coronavirus in the State, the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust had set up a quarantine centre to be used by the State government. Given the steady rise of the number of cases in and around Puttaparthi, the same has now been converted into a full-fledged COVID care centre and will be run by doctors and staff of SSSIHMS. This is a 130-bed facility which has oxygen supply in every room, 5 ICU beds and 5 ventilator-equipped beds.

Patients who need institutional care will now be taken care of the centre. District Special Officer Mr Chaitanya and the Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri RJ Rathnakar jointly inaugurated the facility, in presence of a host of medicos from the SSSIHMS. Team SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, with various departments coming together, in unison with various SSSCT units in the Ashram worked tirelessly to make this beautiful offering a reality.
