Living With Sri Sathya Sai – A Spiritual Conference In Prasanthi Nilayam

A two-day spiritual conference on the theme ‘Living With Sri Sathya Sai’  is being organised as part of the ongoing 93rd Year Of Advent celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam. The conference is aimed at re-engineering the inner faculties with the Nine-point code of conduct laid down by Bhagawan, followed and practised in Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations.

Addressing the august audience of participants, All India President Sri Nimish Pandya in his keynote address urged the participants to go back to the roots, to the kindergarten level, to ensure that the foundation is strong. The edifice of Sri Sathya Sai needs a strong foundation, foundation of faith. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai is the Name given to the Cosmic Power, reminded the All India President, urging the participants to take His teachings seriously. It is not in building institutions but in effective transformation through practise suffused with love and sincerity that one achieves life’s real goal. He urged one and all to shelve all reservations, meticulously revisiting the Nine-Point Code Of Conduct to ensure that the same is sacrosanct. One has to master the mind to become a mastermind. Wherever we go we have a huge responsibility to reflect His teachings and His glory, reminded Sri Nimish Pandya.

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse on the ‘life-essential’, of following the right path followed next. Exhorting the devotees to develop the spirit of love, Bhagawan stressed on the importance of keeping the heart sacred and strong, eschewing all bad qualifies, filling it with selfless love. When you have selfless love, you attract the whole world. Self Is Love and Love Is Selfless. The Organisation that is bearing the matchless holy Name of Sri Sathya Sai should follow the right path, reminded Bhagawan.

Coming next, speaking on the supreme significance of Gayatri Mantra, Sri Vedanarayanan, faculty at Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, lucidly explained the inner significance, meaning, and the many whats and hows connected to the Mother Of All Vedas, The Gayatri. Citing a couple of examples, one related to the medical scientific research and the other from our own school, the speaker urged the participants to be awakened to the window of golden opportunity, commencing the holy, potent exploration unto the world of Gayatri Mantra. Bhagawan’s chanting of the Mantra resounded the hall and the congregation followed en mass. This was followed by group chanting of Sai Gayatri Mantra.

Next, Bhagawan, in His Divine discourse, explained the potency of Gayatri Mantra in detail.  Explaining in detail Bhagawan spoke on the importance of the thread of ‘surrender’ on the neck, to become eligible to have our worthy share of God’s Kingdom. Through effort one should shine and reach the state of surrender. By continuously engaged in the chanting one automatically reaches a state of fulfilment, ensured Bhagawan.

Sri Sai Giridhar, an alumnus with SSSIHL, currently with Sri Sathya Sai Centre For Human Values at Prasanthi Nilayam, then spoke on the open exhibition ‘Living With Sri Sathya Sai’ being held at the Poornachandra Auditorium on the sidelines of the 2-day conference. To reap the best of the exhibition one need to be a Partha, an Arjuna, with his three special characteristics, reminded the speaker.

A soul-searching, heart-wrenching musical serenading by the Prasanthi Bhajan Group served the final reminder,  a reminder to see Him in one and all, love Him in one and all, serve Him in one and all. Blending all faiths and prayers in a unified musical piece, ‘Dhoodo Kahan…‘ the message was loud and clear, to seek Him with any name or form, but with in-depth love and feeling, looking deep within.  Living with Sai means, living by Serving Him, living by Adoring Him, living with Illumination, reminded the song, thus to make Beloved Mother Sai ‘happy’.

Earlier, the session commenced with a opening theme song, singing the ‘Life-Elixir’, ‘Soham…Soham…Sai Hamara Shwas Hey, Sai Hii Vishwas Hey!’

Sri Vijaya Krishnan, an alumnus of SSSIHL and an office bearer of SSSSO, had the honour of being the Master Of Ceremonies for the morning session. ‘When you operate, I will not cooperate; when you cooperate, I will operate’, said Swami once, sending out the profound reminder that He and He Alone should be in the Driver’s Seat, reminded the speaker and thus the significance of the theme, Living With Sri Sathya Sai.

Bhajans followed and Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan marked the end of the first session proceedings.

The Conference will continue with ensuing session at the Poornachandra Auditorium.
