Wednesday, October 17th, 2018
On the eighth day of the 10-day Dasara festivity, Durgashtami, Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed customary Ayudha Puja, worshipping of the implements, this morning at the Sai Kulwant Hall. Following the tradition set by Bhagawan, various vehicles, ‘Sai Vahan’, that had been blessed by Bhagawan’s ‘physical’ touch, including the Golden Chariot, were religiously worshipped, attended by students and staff members of Prasanthi Nilayam.
Ayudha Puja is traditionally done on the eighth day of the Navaratri Festival. Customarily, implements used for livelihood are worshipped on this day, a symbolic affair reminding man of Supreme Divine grace. In Prasanthi, it has been customary to worship the vehicles used by Bhagawan during the occasion, a custom set by Bhagawan HimSelf decades ago.
Vedam and bhajans accompanied the function that ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
