Scholarly Exposition On Scientific Understanding Of Vedas…

The Day-2 proceedings of the ongoing International Veda Conference at the Sai Kulwant Hall had a unique theme this morning – ‘Scientific Understanding Of Vedas’.

Six distinguished speakers shared their valuable insights on the theme. The speakers were Data Jega Jagadeesan of the SSSSO – Malaysia, Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan, Director of Indian Institute Of Scientific Heritage, Kerala, Dr. Narendranatha Reddy, Chairman, SSIO, Dr. Anuradha Choudry, Asst. Prof.  IIT, Kharagpur, Mr. George Bebedelis, National Council President Of Greece, Director Of ISSE, South Europe and Prof (Dr.) Mohammad Hanif Khan Shastri, Professor Of Sanskrit, Rakshtriya Sanskrit University, New Delhi.

Commencing the session at 0810 hrs, the first speaker for the session,  Dato Jega Jagadeesan deliberated on the theme Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Call For Inter Faith Unity…From Conference Halls To Community. Identifying the major two challenges the world is facing today, that being Interfaith conflict, that is the world is threatened because of religion and the second being decline of respect for parents and family, Jagadeesan narrated Malaysian Sai Organisational efforts in the area of Interfaith Unity that is into its 17th successful year today. Interfaith Unity is a living reality and not confined to AC rooms of deliberations and the best way to effect Interfaith Unity is to translate our talks into actions. In conclusion, Jagadeesan wished the Sathya Sai Organisations in India to take the march into a global scale to make greater impact in the area of Interfaith Unity.

Delivering the Keynote address, Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan delivered his profound Scriptural, Vedic Wisdom deliberating on the topic ‘Discovery of Vedas as the source of wisdom and great relevance in modern times with its scientific understanding for the benefit of mankind’. Lucidly flowing with his profound wisdom, the erudite speaker delved on the quintessence of the Vedas, that being goodness in all areas of life, living a useful, fruitful and meaningful life practising the dictum, Asatoma Sadgamaya……Mrutyorma Amritamgamaya. Quoting at ease from the vast scriptural Vedic treasurehouse, narrating various subtle nuances of the Vedic Wisdom, Dr. Gopalakrishnan exhorted the audience to practise integrating Vidya with Avidya, that is Atmic Wisdom with Scientific Knowledge to lead a meaningful life.

Addressing next, Dr. Narendranatha Reddy shared nuggets of wisdom that he learnt at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan over the years of close association with The Divine. Quoting Swami and His Teachings, with referential wisdom from the vast Vedic ocean, Dr Reddy concluded identifying the modern 4-Mahavakyas by Bhagawan, that being, Love All… Serve All, Help Ever… Hurt Never. The topic for him this morning was Vedanta In Daily Life.

Dr. Anuradha Chaudry then spoke on the quintessential human puzzle, of his journey from Being to Becoming and reverse. Her topic being ‘Transformative Power Of Vedic Sounds; An Aid To More Peaceful And Healthier Individual And Collective Living’, she took the audience through a practical ‘classroom’ demonstration involving sounds and movements, giving the audience a glimpse of the answer to the eternal human question, Who Am I?

George Bebedelis, on the topic, ‘Importance Of Vedic Ideals And Their Connection With Ancient Greek Wisdom’, shared with the audience of the most priceless wisdom that he learnt directly from Bhagawan, in the confines of His interview room, that ‘He Is God’. Narrating his beautiful learning experiences with Bhagawan, he also spoke on the Vedic Wisdom, tracing its connectivity with the ancient Greek Wisdom as promoted by Plato and Socrates. Detailing on the greater glory of Sri Rudram, the first verse, George spoke as to how Rudra Prasna becomes Rudropanishad with sincere practice.

The final speaker,  Prof (Dr.) Mohammad Hanif Khan Shastri, chose to speak in Hindi, identified Vedas as the root principle of entire universal wisdom. Speaking with great relish, he deliberated on the topic Essence Of Sanathana Dharma and Qaran, with greater conviction. Quoting the sacred Bhagavad Gita verses at ease, the scholarly speaker stated that with reference to the quintessence, The Bhagavad Gita  and The Holy Quran are the same.

Special dignitaries were then felicitated. Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
