Saturday, December 31st, 2016
Ringing in the New, racing into a blissfully resplendent 2017, as Prasanthi Nilayam is gearing up, the grateful alumni of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music presented a soulful musical-gratitude-offering at the Divine Lotus Feet this evening here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Hailing the offering, ‘For The Joy Of Being With Him…’, the programme titled “Sangeeta Sangamam” this evening featured an assortment of Kritis, Bandhishas, Carnatic, Hindustani, Fusion (Jugalbandhi) of Carnatic and Hindustani along with group songs. Main singers were Sarvasree Vivek Karmahe and Harisekhar on Hindustani and Carnatic respectively, with Navin on Mridangam, Hemendra on Tabla, Sachin on Ghatam and Harish on Kanjeera.
Earlier the session commenced with an address by one of the alumni of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College Of Music, Sri M. Gopalakrishna, who delivered a ‘straight-from-the-heart’ speech. Reminiscing the guiding touch of Mother Sai in moulding fresh talents, Sri Gopalakrishna narrated his own story of admission at the Prasanthi portals, not before enduring long, testing, wait.
Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
