Rang-e-Mohabbat… An Inspiring Convocation Drama…

When the whole world seems to be going upside down, depriving one, then one tends to raise his hands up, seeking solace in Him and Him alone and it is at this moment, God walks into the hapless one, adding His charisma of splendorous hues… As the 35th Annual Convocation Drama of SSSIHL unfolded today, it was this enticing ‘Colour Of Love’ that was in the offing this evening here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. The presentation was entitled, Rang-e-Mohabbat.

The drama portrayed the story of a young lad Vijay, a vibrant, brilliant boy, who did not believe in Godhood and the concept of gratitude, subscribing to his self-floated egotistic self.  Having topped the State Board for XII Standard from the State Of Tamil Nadu, he set his eyes on to join the prestigious IIT, Madras. As ‘bad’ luck would have it, his father, a cartoonist with a prestigious daily, lost all his earnings, owing the trickery of a local chit fund agent.

Fell apart with his father,  Vijay, now tried his best, contacting all possible avenues to get a loan sanctioned, but fell short of having a security to back with. Distraught, he was taken to the local Sai Centre for a special programme, by one of his 4th standard class mate, who ‘accidentally’ bumped into him. Refreshed by the programme Vijay felt enlivened. At the instance of Mr Subramaniam, local Samiti Convener, Vijay finally earned to get a scholarship vide Syndicate Bank, thanks to Mr Narayanan, Sai devoted Manager having a large heart. Vijay joined his dream institution IIT, Madras, only to meet up with his local Samiti Convener, Mr Subramaniam, who, to his pleasant surprise donned the garb of his Professor at IIT.

Falling into the Sai ‘basket’, Vijay became an active face at Sai programmes. His maiden trip to Parthi captivated him into the wonderful world of Sai, and thus the desire to join the prestigious SSSIHL. Two failed attempts in the entrance exams made him completely crest-fallen, questioning God for desperate answers, as to why..??? why this???

God’s ways are mysterious… as an unexpected reward came in the form of a special felicitation by the Tamil Nadu Government, in appreciation of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation’s cleanliness drive, “Swachatha Se Divyata Tak”, in line with the Govt Of India initiative. Incidentally, Vijay was heading the cleanliness drive in the city from the Sathya Sai Sai Organisations side, at the special instance of Mr Subramaniam.

As the story went on, mystery unfolded,  as Vijay, now, could see the Divine Hands that has been guiding and guarding him all through. It was His mysterious Hands that sanctioned the ‘mystery’ scholarship to him, when he was looking for a desperate way out.

Got deep into Sai, having learnt his otherwise ‘unlearnt’ lessons in the hardest possible way, now it was time for a bigger reward, for his dream to come true, a much awaited entry into the portals of SSSIHL. A surprise phone call from the Registrar’s Office at SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam confirmed his selection, ending the story in a ‘fairytale’ way.

It turned out to be a wonderful portrayal, truly professional, of the ‘Colours Of Love’ Of Sai.

The drama was ably assisted by brilliant multimedia backdrop, filling the screen with enacted scenes galore.

A group song, singing paeans to Him – Beloved Mother Sai – marked the end of 90 minutes presentation.

Bhajans continued and Mangala Arathi marked the end of the proceedings.

Earlier, the evening session commenced with the presentation of “Sai Krishna Award” for excellence in Research, which has been instituted to recognize and honour the top researchers of SSSIHL.
