The very Name “Rama” is synonymous with pristine purity and Dharmic essence. The Name spurs hearts and souls with an incomparable righteous feeling.
This Name spans beyond all barriers, taking one to the Eternal Realm of Supreme Godhood. Presenting the grand finale of the Annual Sports and Cultural Festival for the academic year 2015-16, students of Prasanthi Nilayam Campus presented a drama entitled “Ramo Vigrahavan Dharma” this evening here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. The presentation ideally showcased Rama’s ideal, righteous leadership, both as a ruler as well as the Supreme Lord.
Adikavi Valmiki had just completed his epical ‘Rama Karya’, compiling the Divine Elixir called ‘Ramayana’ and in his moments of ecstatic contentment and bliss there appeared Devarshi Narada. A discussion ensued between them as Narada claimed that the Rama Story has already been written by Bhakta Hanuman. Eager and enthusiastic, the duo proceeded and met up with the foremost of Rama devotees. An interesting Satsangh ensued thereon formed the storyline for the day’s presentation by the students.
The presentation, in selected episodes, showcased the Hanuman version of Ramayana, narrated from a heart drenched in supreme devotion. Jatayu’s attempt to defend a hapless Mother Sita at Ravana’s Kingdom, Hanuman’s first and the most unforgetful meeting with Lord Rama, the inseparable bond of love between Lord Rama and Lakshmana, Kumbhakarna’s Paradharma over Atmadharma much against a relenting heart, Ravana’s admiration for Lord Rama in his dying moments, etc were the selected chapters for the evening, presented in a befitting fashion.
In his dying moments as Ravana saluted Lord Rama he proclaimed a message for the world, ‘Always procrastinate when evil deeds approach you’, a message for the ‘you and me’ in the august assembly. Ravana lived a life, a life none would want to live, serving a ‘sailent’ reminder to the world that none should emulate him.
Joyous exultation of Bhagawan Sri Rama’s coronation ceremeny marked the successful culmination of the Sports & Cultural Festival.
Bhajans continued and the session came to a close with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan at 1850 hrs.
