Conference on Advances in Arthroscopy concludes…

The Sri Sathya Sai International Orthopaedic Conference on the Advances in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine, organized by the department of Orthopaedics of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences concluded here this evening. The conference was organized under the ageis of the Indian Arthroscopy Society and the Andhra Pradesh chapter of Indian Orthopaedic Association. The conference witnessed attendance of around 150 delegates and faculty members from India and abroad and has been granted 6 credit hours by the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council.

During the three days, the delegates had the opportunity of being a part of a rich academic and spiritual experience. The live surgery demonstration and workshop on knee and shoulder arthroscopy conducted during the conference was greatly appreciated by the delegates. The conference covered the theme of arthroscopy and sports medicine from the basic to the advanced level and therefore targeted experienced as well as budding surgeons.

According to orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Prasanna from SDM college from Dharwad, Karnataka, the highlight of the conference was its high grade content.  Dr. B. Sravanthi from Narayana Hospital, Nellore echoed a similar sentiment. “ The content was excellent and the highlight was the live surgery demonstration, she said.”  A desire was expressed by almost all the delegates that they would wish to be part of future conferences.

Dr. James Sullivan faculty member from  Sydney, Australia, observed that it was an enlightening experience for him.  Dr. C. Bancha from Thailand said that it was a totally new experience for him.

Dr. Sanjay Desai from Mumbai said that it is unfortunate that people do not know that a place like the SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram exits and that he learnt the importance of faith in the healing process.
