Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam…

Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed a festival of difference, Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam, a celebration in commemoration of the ascent of the Avatar of the Age – Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 23rd, 24th and 25th April 2012. Cultural Programme by AP Youth

Drawing inspiration from Bhagawan’s mammoth drinking water supply projects, a project catering to the drinking water supply across the state of AP titled ‘Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutha Dhaara‘ was conceptualised. This programme marked the dedication of the safe drinking water projects in 108 villages across the state of Andhra Pradesh at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan in the form of pictorial and video presentations interspersed with song and dance. The project which stretched across 23 districts and mobilised 2000 volunteers helped provide safe drinking water and affected the lives of over a lakh people. read more »

Summer Course in SSSIHL, Brindavan Campus for Karnataka Youth

Day -1

Summer course on Indian culture and Spirituality at the Brindavan campus of Sri Sathya Institute of Higher Learning was inaugurated on 16th April, 2012 at 10 am, resonating with Vedic chants and soul stirring Bhajans. The event started by lighting of the lamps by Justice  Shivraj Patil, former Judge of Supreme Court of India, Prof. Shashidhara Prasad, Vice Chancellor of Sri Satya Institute of Higher Learning, Sri V. Srinivasan, All India President of Sri. Sathya Sai Seva Organization and Sri Sanjay Sahani, Director, Brindavan Campus, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Sri. Dhakkappa, State President of Karnataka, and Sri. Gangadhar Setty, Convenor, Sathya Sai Trust, Karnataka.

In his inaugural address Shri. V Srinivasan, said ‘Culture’ is a way of life. Bharathiya culture has survived for thousands of years and will continue to propagate all that is good in human existence. He noted that Bharathiya way of life include respect for elders, love, faith and tolerance. Bharath has taken in many races and religions into its fold. He said that the organization will attempt to collaborate with colleges and universities across the country to create awareness and share these core human values across the nation. Kerala’s harvest festival and New Year Vishu was celebrated with religious fervour in Bhagawan’s Divine Presence on 14th April 2012.  Joining the stream of devotees hundreds of youth from the state also participated in the celebrations this year. read more »

Tamil New Year Celebrations

It was a very special Tamil New Year in Prasanthi Nilayam. Hearing and speech impaired children from Vela School, Villipurum captured all hearts  with a scintillating dance performance in the Divine Presence entitled, “Dikku Leni Vaariki Devude Gathi!“. The school is adopted by Alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Tamil Nadu.

The celebrations began early in the morning with auspicious music on the Nadaswaram. At 0800hrs, the Sundaram Bhajan group performed Veda Chanting and Bhajans in the Sai Kulwant Hall even as delicious sweets were distributed to the assembly. In the evening Professor Anil Kumar introduced the programme in English and Telugu after which the state president of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Tamil Nadu, Sri N. Ramani addressed the gathering in Tamil. read more »

Inauguration of Radio Sai Recording Studio at Tirupati

Radiosai is a medium blessed by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, to uplift human values in the society. This radio service was started  in the year 2001, on the occasion of Baba’s 76th birthday celebrations. Initially, this service was made available on the World Space satellite radio as a free channel. As the years went on, the response that it had from thousands of devotees from across the globe, immensely inspired the Radiosai team. And eventually, with the blessings of Bhagawan Baba, Radiosai extended its broadcasting services through the internet also.

Radiosai today, has 6 different streams – Asia, Africa, Ameri, Discourse, Bhajan and Telugu,  that offer a variety of programs that bring out the message of pure love given by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, to the entire humanity. On the anniversary of His final public Darshan, thus far…, passing out students of Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Sciences and Bachelor of Arts from the Brindavan (Bangalore) campus of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning assembled in Prasanthi Nilayam on the 25th March 2012. They started the programme with an emotional speech thanking Bhagawan for the memories He has given them. 25th March 2011, the Divine Chariot cruised along on a carpet of adoration that distinctly flowed from every heart that had gathered in Sai Kulwant Hall that evening, for a glimpse of God. All necks craned to view this most adored form. Awe, exultation and deep reverence did exude forth embracing the ever loving and living God. Ugadi in Prasanthi Nilayam…

Nandana Nama Ugadi, herading of the arrival of vernacular Telugu New Year, was celebrated this year in Prasanthi Nilayam in the Divine Presence of Bhagawan on the 23rd of March marked by special programmes.  Over the years Prasanthi had the unique boon of celebrating the new year in the physical presence of the Avatar of The Age, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This being the first new year after Bhagawan’s physical passing on last year had a nostalgic flavour of His mighty physical presence.

On the 25th morning after the regular Vedic chanting by the students, Panchanga Shravanam (recitation of religious almanac pertaining to the coming year) was conducted by noted vedic scholar Sri Kuppa Siva Subrahmanya Avadhani. As the festivity marks the beginning of a new Panchanga, it is significant to conduct Panchanga Shravanam, hearing of the annual forecast as predicated in the Panchanga. read more »
