On the eve of the commencement of the 89th Birthday celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, Child Prodigy and upcoming Violinist Sayee Rakshith from Chennai offered a captivating Violin Concert this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Presenting an impressive concert, the 15-year old budding artist offered some of the famous compositions of musical legends, namely, Muthuswami Dikshitar, St Thyagaraja, etc. Beginning with a Ganesh Vandana, a composition by Muthuswami Dikshitar, the hour-long concert had another six more compositions that included Enna Thavam Seithanai…famed Krishna devotional, a rhythmic piece – Thillana by the talented artist’s preceptor Smt. Kanya Kumari, a Bhajan Medley to conclude with a St Thyagaraja composition.
By age he is still in his boyhood, yet with his favorite musical instrument he touches mastery with elan, peaking to excellence, on par with professional standard. Sai Rakshit started his career as a child prodigy at the tender age of 9, performed in India and abroad on many occasions, winning accolades for his inborn mastery. Got to perform in Bhagawan’s Divine Presence on 4 earlier occasions, the blossoming artist takes the opportunity to be the rarest and most precious in his life.
Sayee Rakshit was accompanied by Sai Shankar on Mridangam, Master Sainath on Ghatam and Jagdish Kanadia, faculty at Mirpuri College Of Music, on Tabla.
At the end of the presentation, the artist and accompanists were felicitated. Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1810 hrs.
