Legendary Ghantasala’s voice that enchanted the Divine and mesmerised the devotee audience for over three decades in Andhra Pradesh and South India was reproduced by Sri P Saratchandra in the immediate Divine Presnce this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The programme was organised as part of 11th Parthi Yatra by the devotees from the north-eastern district of Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam. Overt 1800 devotees have joined in this Parthi Yatra.
The evening programme commenced at 1630 hrs. with Veda chanting followed by an invocatory talk by the district president of SSSSO briefing in short various service activities undertaken by the Organisation.
Singing selected numbers from the classics by the legendary singer, Sri Saratchandra brought live golden memoirs from the state’s golden musical era. Scoring music on the electronic keyboard, Saratchandra sang for over 80 mts. that included numbers, Sri Raamuni Cheritamunu Telipedanamma…, Jaya Krishna Mukunda Murari…, Shiva Shankari Shivananda Lahari…, Namo Sai Baba Namo Sathya Sai… etc.
Honouring the legendary musician Saratchandra had instituted Ghantasala Sangeetha Kalasala aimed at promoting Telugu Literature, Culture and Music.
Even as bhajans continued the artistes and accompanists were felicitated. The session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 1830 hrs.
Parthi Yatra team from the twin districts of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh will offer a cultural evening tomorrow evening in Sai Kulwant Hall.
