Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital is @ 62. The first ever hospital commissioned under the ‘banner’ of Sri Sathya Sai Baba is turning 62 on 4th October 2017. Celebrating the joyous occasion, the staffers from SSSGH presented a musical evening today at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam.Titled “Dhanyosmi Krutakrutyosmi”, the programme this evening was a mix of music and narrations, suffused with love and gratitude.
The session commenced at 1640 hrs with opening remarks by the Supdt. of SSSGH, Air Marshal (Retd.) Dr Vinod Kumar Varma. Expressing gratitude to Bhagawan for the phenomenal growth the General Hospital has recorded over the past six decades, Dr Varma presented a summary of the salient features of the “Temple Of Healing”, mixing it up with statistical highlights. He also narrated a beautiful story of ‘His Touch Of Grace’, of healing with the grace of Bhagawan, saving a precious life.
The programme that ensued had some of the veteran doctors and staffers speaking on their inspirational experiences interspersed with songs of love and gratitude.
Dr. Ravi Dabir, Dr. (Mrs.) Chaya Himadri, Mrs. Vijaya Bose, Ms Easwaramma alias Easwari and Dr. (Mrs.) Hema Gopinathan shared their inspiring ‘Sai Touch Of Grace’ stories with the audience.
Speaking first, Dr Ravi Dabir, HOD, Dentistry, narrated his long term ‘association’ with Bhagawan, explaining how he was blessed by Bhagawan to become a humble instrument at His hand in expanding the Department Of Dentistry and later for the overall expansion of the General Hospital, happened a couple of years ago. Dr. Chaya Himadri, HOD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, speaking next recollected how, Bhagawan taught them of the need to wear an expression of encouragement and not of despondency, even while dealing with a bad case. Loving care heals the patients faster than medicine and operation, reminded the speaker quoting Bhagawan. Mrs. Vijaya Bose, HOD, Physiotherapy, spoke of how Bhagawan set up a special department of physiotherapy making her a humble instrument. Narrating her personal experience, Mrs. Bose also shared with the audience as to how Bhagawan advised her to make her every single action an offering of love, as her sadhana. Addressing last, Dr. (Mrs.) Hema Gopinathan, Consultant Cardiologist with the Dept. Of Medicine, spoke of the multiple lessons she and her husband, late Dr. Gopinathan learnt at His Lotus Feet. How Bhagawan gave them a timeframe to work out for the ‘great Home coming’, how, later, they were guided by Him to make Pattamadai in Tamil Nadu, Swami Sivananda’s birthplace a temporary karma bhoomi before returning to Parthi to join the service, and how the couple were made His instrument in setting up a Medical Surgical Inpatient facility coupled with an operation theatre were narrated by the veteran doctor. Narrating how the couple were taught and trained by Bhagawan to live in joyful acceptance, in conclusion, Dr. Hema said, living with the embodied Swami and the OmniPresent Swami has been a very fulfilling, enriching and journey with Him, to Him.
Songs for the evening included “Hum Ko Man Ki Shakthi De…”, a folk song by Ms Easwari & Co. singing “Sathyaswaroopudavu Neevayya…”, “Janula Madya Tirugaade Jagapati…”, a Sanskrit composition by Bharatiteertha Swamiji extolling Him, beseeching for redemption…”Garuda Gamana Thava Charana Kamala Miha…”, etc.
Concluding their presentation the GH team prayed for Prasada Buddhi, attitude of acceptance, blessing them with their dedicated service in His Mission.
Bhagawan’s Divine discourse was the grand finale, played on the public address system.
The Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital was the first of the ‘Temples Of Healing” initiated by Bhagawan, on the 4th of October, 1956, on the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dasami.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
