Gujarat Parthi Yatra concludes…
Friday, November 13th, 2015
After Deepavali and New Year comes Bhai Beej, an occasion on par with the famous Raksha Bandhan, when sisters pray for the long life and welfare of brothers. Continuing with the festive mode, devotees from Gujarat presented a series of music and dance offerings today, this third and final evening of the State sponsored Parthi Yatra here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.
A Bhakti song “Mushkil Karo Aasan Sai Mori” set the tone for the session, reflecting on the agony-filled- painful-longing of many a heart, for Beloved Mother Sai. Beginning from where the Navsari girl students have stopped last evening, boy students from SSS School, Surat then offered a Folk Dance offering, depicting the rural folk-dance culture of the State. The boys with acrobatic movements exhibited great stamina and dexterity presenting a riveting session of folk-dance.
Two musical offering ensued, first by Sri Devesh Dave and Smt Manisha Dave, followed by Ms Shubhangini Marathe, presenting an evening of devotional showers on an overcast day. “Hey Sai Terey Charan Ke Dhool Bhi Mil Jaaye, Sab Sai Bhakt Ki Takdeer Badal Jaye…” – beginning with this inspiring composition on the supreme significance of the Sai Phenomenon, the Dave couple rendered six pieces that included a Gazal and a Tabla solo by Raghav Dave, son of the music couple. Devesh Dave is an All India Radio artist and has over 2000 concerts in his credit. He was also blessed with an opportunity to sing in His physical presence in 2009, in Prasanthi Nilayam.
With many feathers in her cap as ‘musicologist’, Ms Shubhangini Marathe is an accomplished name in the circuit as a classical, light music vocalist, with additional expertise on Sitar. Presenting Hindustani this evening, the accomplished singer with a Masters in Performing Arts (Vocal) began with a Bandish on Rama Bhakti and continued with another one in Marati, describing the beauty of Lord Dattatreya incarnations, one of her own composition. An inciting Gujarati Garbha folklore song followed next, on Gokul Krishna, and she ended with a Devi Navaratri dedication presenting a classical version of the popular Prasanthi Bhajan “Devi Sai Maa…” with Gujarati mix.
The session went on with Bhajans and Mangala Arathi at 1845 hrs marked the end of the proceedings.
