The first ever hospital commissioned under the ‘banner’ of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, is at 64 this year. Commemorating the occasion, doctors and paramedical staff presented a programme titled ‘Unity In Seva – Divinity In Action’ this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam. Profusely thanking Bhagawan for the unique, priceless gift of ‘Sai Seva’ conferred upon chosen many, Dr. Narasimhan, Medical Supdt. at SSSGH, addressed the audience commencing the session this evening, delving upon the theme ‘Unity In Seva – Divinity In Action’.
Hailing the Medicare system at Puttaparthi as the only one that provides four distinct levels of services, primary, secondary, tertiary and outreach, the Superintendent highlighted on the unique chain of cooperation among the four sets of ‘Temples Of Healing’ operational under the Sri Sathya Sai banner. Seva has to be viewed from a higher spiritual perspective, reminded Dr Narasimhan stressing on the essence of Bhagawan’s message that being evolution and transformation.
We need to introspect, asking ourselves as to what the Seva is doing to us at a transformative level, reminded the speaker ending his inspiring speech quoting Bhagawan, Practise Of Medicine With Love Is Medicare. He also narrated a touching incident involving a 27 year old hapless youth, a chronic heart patient in need of emergency operation, who was moved by the ‘Love’ being practised by the medical fraternity at Bhagawan’s hospitals. Earlier, commencing his speech Dr Narasimhan presented a summary of improvisations achieved in various areas during the last one year that was followed by a department-wise report.
The three unique medical institutions, SSSIHMS at Prasanthigram and Whitefield along with Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital were felicitated next, being ‘hand in hand’ with SSSGH in its holy mission. Dr. Neelam Desai, Dr. Sekhar Rao and Dr. Narasimhan received the felicitations representing the institutions.
A Kuchipudi offering by tiny tots, Kum Jandyala Sai Shree Mohana Hansika and Kumari Jagruti next was followed by a Carnatic offering by Sarvepalli Sisters, Navamallika Shreya and Honey Rajalakshmi. These performers are children of staff members at SSSGH.
Bhagawan’s inspiring Divine discourse followed next, aired on public address system.
The Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital came in to being in the year 1956 and has been in the forefront of “Love In Action” ever since, under Bhagawan’s direct guidance.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
