Grand Culmination To Cheti Chand Celebration…

Post the exuberant session this morning celebrating the Sindhi New Year Cheti Chand, session – 2 this evening featured twin speeches, felicitations followed by a musical offering at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The session commenced at 0515 hrs. with a procession followed by traditional offerings of ‘pallo’ and ‘akho’ to the backdrop vocal of Ms. Kaajal Chandiramani.
Addressing the august assembly on the occasion, All India President of SSSSO, Sri Nimish Pandya was in full praise of the small yet powerful community that suffered the maximum during the Indo-Pak division. Kudos to their bravado, said the AIP commenting on the community’s fighting spirit. Wherever they went they changed the economy of the place, country, observed the President. Commenting on their unflinching faith in Swami, Sri Nimish Pandya invited the Sindhi community all over the globe to Prasanthi Nilayam as, he said it aloud, “If there is a real home for Lord Jhulelal, it is in Prasanthi Nilayam. The AIP then along with SSSCT Secretary Sri GSRCV Prasad Rao felicitated some of the leading sevaks of Prasanthi Nilayam. Those who felicitated included Prof. HJ Bhagya, Professor and mentor at SSSIHL, Dr. Prakash Khanchandani, HOD at Orthopaedic Department at SSSIHMS, Dr. (Mrs.) Prakash Khanchandani, Dy. Medical Supdt. at Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, Sri Mohan Mirpuri who was blessed to be an instrument in Bhagawan’s mission bringing up Sai Mirpuri College Of Music, Mr. Chandur Magnani a prominent Sindhi personality, to name a few. Young and talented Sindhi Youth, Aishwarya Khubchandani, who stands outstanding as India’s leading squash player under 17, ranking 4th in the category, was also specially felicitated. In conclusion, commenting on the dissuading trend of modern Sindhi youth, who are trending to distance away from the Sindhi tradition, Sri Nimish Pandya then invited two little Sindhi sister-kids to converse in their own sweet language, out in open, inspiring the revival mission.
Ms. Manju Nichani from the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, the guest speaker for the evening, speaking on the occasion touched upon the revival mission launched by her mentor Sadhu Vaswani, slowly rebuilding the community that went spiraling down into dilapidation. To give is to live was the maxim of Sadhu Vaswani, who always believed in giving, giving, giving, thus serving fellow beings. Similar to Bhagawan’s mission, Sadhu Vaswani ever believed in moulding men and women of character through his educational mission, said the speaker referring to the ever growing number of role-model educational institutions under the mission.
The grand finale was a rocking, rollicking Sindhi devotional by Ms. Kaajal Chandiramani, a leading singer from Mumbai. Presenting fast-paced devotionals with inciting tempo, the versatile singer lifted hearts and minds many this evening to greater levels of exuberant devotion. Her evening number included an ever inciting Dama Dam Mast Qalandar, a popular Sufi number penned by one of the most revered Sufi saints Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
Bhajans next ended with Bhagawan’s ‘Sunday Special’ Love Is My Form, Truth Is My Breath… followed by Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – India in collaboration with SSIO (Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation) have organised the whole of the event, for the first time in Prasanthi Nilayam.
