Deepavali Celebrations by Gujarat Devotees…
Wednesday, November 7th, 2018
Celebrating the festival of lights, Deepavali, devotees from Gujarat presented a cultural evening of different hues today here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. The session commenced with a brief address by Sri Manohar Trikarnad, State President Of SSSSO-Gujarat from 2002 until recently. Sri Trikarnad briefed some of the salient features of the SSSSO activities during his tenure of sixteen years at the helm of affairs at SSSSO – Gujarat, touching lives many, taking Bhagawan’s message across the length and breadth of the State.
A beautiful intro on the festive auspicious spirit next was followed by a prayer song ‘Mangal Deep’ seeking to light the lamp of wisdom within, sung by the Mahilas of Navsari district. Invoking Maa Saraswati, girl students from Sri Sathya Sai School, Surat then presented a dance offering, singing “Maa Saraswati Sarade…”.
The final presentation was a play by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketan, Navsari. Titled “God, Nature And Man” the presentation was a ‘message-oriented’ drama touching the theme of preservation of nature. Presented in Hindi, the drama sends out the strong message of the absolute need of the hour, Care and Concern for Mother Nature, from the hands of man following the dictums of Supreme Godhood, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.
How the five elements should be preserved clean practising many ‘do’s’ avoiding many ‘do-nots’ formed the beautiful natural theme for the evening. Meaningful theme song in the form of a qawwali played in sequence at interludes served the beautiful message of sanctifying the essential ‘Life-Elixir’ to save life on Planet Earth. Creator God Brahma came in guest appearance at interludes enlightening the humans on the do’s and don’ts to preserve the planet. The presentation had meaningful hints at man’s modern-day life style, addicted to ‘polluting gadgets’ causing imminent destruction of both, man and nature. Simple, yet profound with message for the day, airing the message of ‘Care and Concern for Nature’. ‘Kya Zama Hei Zameen Aasman Sundar Hey, Tera Banaya Hua Yey Jahan Sundar Hey…’ the message of the beauty of His creation resounded Prasanthi Nilayam in the beautiful evening.
Bhajans by the Gujarati contingent followed next and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan. The contingent of devotees will be celebrating the auspicious Gujarati New Year tomorrow in His immediate Divine OmniPresence.
Following the tradition set by Bhagawan, post the Mandir celebrations students from Sri Sathya Sai Institutions celebrated the Colours Of Deepavali in the waning twilight at the Yajur Mandiram premises. The session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Beloved Bhagawan.
