Glittering Ladies’ Day Evening In His Presence…
Sunday, November 19th, 2017
Two of Bhagawan’s ‘all-time-favourites’, singer Dana Gillespie and tiny tots from ‘His Own’ Primary School stole the limelight this evening, marking the grand culmination of 19th November Special, International Ladies’ Day here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. The session this evening commenced at 1630 hrs with Rudram chanting by the girls from ‘Primary School’ followed by a special Vedic invocation by the students from the Anantapur Campus of SSSIHL.
Ms Chetana Raju then introduced the speaker for the session. The speaker was Ms Mallala Prasanthi, IAS, currently Jt. Collector, Hyderabad.
Calling her visit to ‘Prasanthi’ a ‘Home-Coming’, where she was born and christened by Bhagawan HimSelf, Ms Prasanthi began with stories of her intimate ‘one-to-One’ with Bhagawan during her childhood-school days, adding little tales of ‘miracles’. Narrating her official work-ethics with the motto of Service with Sai-element, Ms Prasanthi called for enhanced ‘Women-Power’, hailing Bhagawan’s initiatives towards the same end. The plight of women in the world today is not so encouraging, observed the speaker. Her concluding remarks were based on the sacred Bhagavad Gita exposition on woman, spelling out attributes galore. Quoting The Gita, Ms Prasanthi urged every single woman to strive to become that ‘perfect’ woman as the Bhagavad Gita speaks about.
P. Susheela, the name that needs no introduction, Bhagawan’s ‘chosen’ singer, queen of melodies in South India, winner of Padma Bhushan, was then felicitated in traditional style for her ‘being special’ for Bhagawan. Ms P. Susheela was a regular sight at His Lotus Feet during earlier birthday celebrations, where she would sing for Swami during the famed ‘Jhoola Mahotsavam’.
Singer Dana Gillespie of London Blues Band is known for her singing prowess and Prasanthi has experienced her regaling ‘singing’ prowess many a time, especially during Bhagawan’s Birthday celebrations. The special artiste for this evening was Ms Gillespie, who chose to sing, in her own inimitable style, ‘swinging and swaying’, singing out to her Master, singing straight from the Soul within. This evening Dana presented four thematic songs, with interspersed narrations, on the birth and significance of each theme…each song. The songs were, “‘I Have Some Questions, You Have The Answer”, ‘More Than A Mother’s Love…’, ‘Start The Day With Love…’, ‘Shower The Rose Petals…’ that ended with an echoing refrain for Cosmic Peace – “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu” followed by Om Shanti! Shanti! Shanti! Indeed, she began her concert this evening, paying obeisance at Bhagawan’s Feet in her typical style, with a Shower of Rose Petals.
Ms Chetana Raju then announced the ‘soon-to-be-released’ new Digital App towards the ‘Sri Sathya Sai Global Women Project’ that was announced last year during the Ladies’ Day.
The final offering for the evening was by the tiny tots from Bhagawan’s Primary School. The colourful dance-drama, ‘Pure Love’ was on the theme of Bhagawan’s Avatarhood, as narrated by Bhagawan HimSelf, revealing the ‘Great-Kailash-Divine-Drama’ involving The Divine Parents, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvathi with Sage Bharadwaja.
Bhagawan’s chosen biographer and translator Prof Kasturi appears in, reminding the audience of the 1963 epochal Gurupurnima declaration by Bhagawan, announcing HimSelf as Shiva-Shakthi.
Famed stories of scriptural revelations paraded forth in the next 45 minutes, giving glimpses of the Incomprehensible Supreme Divine Advent. Jesus’s revelation of BA-BA, revelation of Mahadi Moud and …that of what The Lord HimSelf averred sitting at Dwarakamai in His ‘Own’ Shirdi, as Shirdi Sai were shown in different episodes. As the ‘Kasturi-narration’ continued, more stories paraded forth, all talking in tune with His indescribable glory. Stories followed included that of Pedda Bottu, Frank Baranowski, Karanam Subbamma, Kalpagiri, Dr Art-Ong-Jumsai, the Oct 20, 1940 incident that became the famed ‘Avatar Declaration’ and many more. The presentation did mention about various saplings sprouted as per His Divine Sankalpa, the Balvikas, EHV, Educare, etc, enhancing the growth, bringing greater awareness in the human minds and hearts. The evening turned out to be The Story Of The ‘Love That Conquers’.
Earlier, the presentation began with a commentary on the Maha Thathwa, speaking about the Supreme Resolve of ‘Ekoham Bahusyami’, where in Param Atma divided itself into many Jeevatmas, the story of creation.
A final group song ‘Sundara Sai Namamu Endha Madhuramu…’ marked the end of the soulful presentation.
Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
