Tribal Folk Dance Drama by Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh…

Taking a short break from a long stretch of Parthi Yatra programmes, when the session resumed today, devotees from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh staged a Dance Drama this evening at Sai Kulwant Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam. Over 2200 devotees from the twin States have joined the 2-day Parthi Yatra, from the 12th to 13th September.
The presentation this evening entitled “Ram Vanvas” was, as the title suggests, a tribal folk dance depiction of the illustrious ‘Ramayana’ story, covering various incidents during the Lord’s ‘exile’ sojourn. Action with poetic commentary in tandem brought out a lively presentation delivering some of the classy ‘Panchavati’ episodes.
26 tribal youth from Kariha village of Kanker district, Chhattisgarh participated in the programme.
Much different from the modern-day presentations armed with multimedia force, this naïve ‘tribal’ depiction today stands testimony to India’s evergreen ‘classy’ ethnic traditions.
Earlier, the session commenced at 1650 hrs with Sri Bharat Jhawar, State President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations for the twin States, addressing the assembly. Speaking in Hindi, the State President detailed about the organizational initiatives in the twin States, especially in the milestone 90th year of Bhagawan’s Advent.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi at 1815 hrs.
The Parthi Yatra will continue tomorrow with cultural programmes by the Madhya Pradesh contingent.
