Ramakatha by Erode Children…
Saturday, August 8th, 2015
Students from Jaycees Matric School, Erode District, Tamil Nadu presented a value-oriented drama, “Sai Values & Ramayana – Lessons drawn from Rama Katha Rasa Vahini”, this evening on day-2 of Erode Parthi Yatra here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The presentation, as the title suggests, was based on Bhagawan’s Rama Katha Rasa Vahini, projecting five human values from the Ramayana perspective.
The session commenced with a brief intro by Smt Rajani Rani, Principal of Jaycees Matric School – Erode, followed by a dance presentation on “Divine Love”.
A Ramakatha rendition next, just as the students would sing in Bhagawan’s physical presence, set the tone for the ‘epical’ drama presentation. Presenting five distinct instances from the Ramayana, corresponding to five cardinal human values, these children from Erode depicted the unstinting eternal influence of the epic on humanity.
The five scenes depicted are:
Lord Rama sticks to Truth, honouring His father’s last wish, persuading Bharata to run the Kingdom – pointer to Truth.
Lord Rama accepts Vibheeshana to His fold, who seeks refuge – pointer to Dharma.
Lord Rama sends Angada on a Peace Mission to Ravana; Angada makes his attempt, preaching the demons in the Lankan court – pointer to Shanti.
Shabari’s immaculate Love for her Lord – pointer to Prema.
Dacoit Ratnakara becomes Maharishi Valmiki, leaving the path of non-violence – pointer to Ahimsa.
The presentation concluded with a pointer to wisdom, repeating Ravana, who in his dying moment repented for his sinful life that had brought his downfall.
Bhajans continued and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
