Erode Parthi Yatra…
Friday, August 7th, 2015
A large contingent of over 2200 devotees from Erode district of Tamil Nadu is in Prasanthi Nilayam on a 3-day Parthi Yatra. Celebrating the occasion in the immediate Divine Presence, the troupe offered a devotional presentation comprising dance and music this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The programme began with a short dance offering entitled ‘Avatarana’ by the girl students of Sri Sathya Sai Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chittoor, depicting the descent of Godhood – ‘Avatarana’, ascribing glory, bringing in greater auspiciousness.
Invoking the Lord to the evening’s special assembly vide a “swagatam” song, the presentation then continued with a garland of songs, well-strung with a variety of beautiful devotional numbers in Sanskrit, Telugu and Tamil, sung by the Youth and Balvikas children.
The collection of songs included a soul-stirring “Janani Janani Janani… Jagatkarini…”, a meaningful and melodic “Saieesha Charitam Anandabharitam…”, “Uyyaala Looguma Sri Sathya Sai…” a popular Carnatic classical ‘lullaby’ on Bhagawan pregnant with great philosophical meaning and “Madhuramohana Ghana Shyama Sundara Sai…” one of Prasanthi’s evergreen numbers.
Bhajans continued and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi.
The group had the privilege of leading the regular morning bhajans here in Prasanthi Nilayam today.
