Aradhana…Worshipping Lord Supreme…
Friday, April 25th, 2014
Worshipping The Lord with a bouquet studded with musical notes of varied hues and fragrances, students and staff from Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions offered a programme of rendering of Kritis this morning on the auspicious Aradhana Mahotsavam here in Prasanthi Nilayam today. This was followed by an eloquent, practical speech by noted Economic thinker Sri Swaminathan Gurumurthy.
Earlier, the programme commenced at 0820 hrs., after regular Vedam chanting, with an introduction by Sri Sai Prakash on the ensuing Musical Offering. Extolling Bhagawan as Nada Brahma, the very Source Of Music, sharing some insightful incidents revealing His identity as Lord Supreme, Sri Sai Prakash then briefly narrated the nature of the twin Kritis for the morning, introducing the composer and music director.
The twin Kritis in Telugu were composed by Ms Vasantha Lakshmi, faculty member at Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri Music College and music was scored by Sri Rajkumar Bharathi, well known classical singer and music composer, the great grandson of the renowned renaissance poet Subramanya Bharathi.
Beginning with “Pranamaamee Sayeesham…” the second and final number was “Sadabhavayami Sri Sathya Sai…” Extolling His greater glory singing paeans, the twin compositions offered turned out to be a Solemn Salute to The Lord, Who loved and encouraged sparks of talents in each and every student all the time.
All India President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations Sri V Srinivasan then introduced the guest speaker for the session, Sri Swaminathan Gurumurthy, noted economic thinker, a nationalist Indian Scholar, a renowned travelling journalist and also the co-convener of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, an organisation for promoting awareness of Indian tradition-Swadeshi Movement.
Quoting Bhagawan frequently and voluntarily intermittently, Sri Gurumurthy’s speech was full of practical realities, who chose to speak about the Relevance Of The Message Of Bhagawan In The Present Context.
How this phenomenon, Bhagawan, is so special to India, asked Sri Gurumurthy, wondering about Bhagawan and the mammoth organizational work He has initiated all over the globe. Charity alone does not guarantee successful commissioning of a project; you need something very special to achieve this, said Sri Gurumurthy commenting on the extraordinary, superhuman initiatives by Bhagawan for the welfare of mankind.
Speaking on Dharma, the failure of Dharma and its devastating effect on society and nation at large, Sri Gurumurthy minced no words, coming down heavily upon the erring western culture. Projecting India as the emerging world power in the near future, a truth that was foretold by Swami Vivekananda long ago, also prophesied by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Himself, Sri Gurumurthy said it is time for the world to understand India and her role as an emerging world leader. Whether India’s politicians…political system want it to happen or not, it is bound to happen, reiterated the scholarly speaker amidst loud cheers.
Earlier, Sri Gurumurthy started off narrating a beautiful experience, his first ever encounter with Bhagawan, in 2003, that proved Him the amazing truth that dimensionless reality cannot be understood even if one is multi-dimensional. It is not to celebrate Him but to internalize Him that is what is important, summarised the speaker.
All India President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations Sri V Srinivasan then spoke about the significance of re-dedication on the Aradhana Day… Touching upon briefly the initiatives of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, committed to His Mission, the All India President then announced the commissioning of the next phase of Sri Sathya Sai Water Supply Project for Anantapur District serving another 50 villages providing pure Drinking Water for the parched throats.
Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, played on the public address system. Bhagawan spoke about the importance of divinising oneself, by detaching from body consciousness. Repeat I am God… I am God… I am God, echoed Bhagawan exhorting the devotees of the temporal transitory nature of human vesture. Bhagawan ended His Divine discourse with the bhajan “Bhaja Govindam… Bhaja Govindam…”
Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi. Maha Narayana Seva was arranged in the Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium attended by thousands of devoted souls from the nearby villages.
