Read on the beautiful Divine narration of the legend of Lord Vamana. (Onam Divine discourse on 16-9-1994)

Good and bad always co-exist. Without pain one cannot have the enjoyment of pleasure. Without darkness one cannot feel the value of light. Man should learn to enjoy the dualities of good and bad, pain and pleasure, in moderation. Food consumed in excess causes indigestion. If it is inadequate it results in starvation. Man can even have ego in a limited measure. If he balances his feelings he can have peace and happiness.

Kashyapa and his two wives, Dithi and Adithi, were the parents of devas (demigods) and asuras (demons). Indra, the king of devas, went to fight with the king of the asuras, as it was common practice in those days for one king to invade the kingdom of another to acquire additional territory.

Mahabali vanquished Indra in the war and proceeded to annexe the territory of Indra and occupied his capital Amaravati. Kashyapa had gone to the Himalayas to do penance. Lamenting over the defeat of her son, Indra, Aditi was in great grief. When she was wailing, Kashyapa came to her. Instantly, he was able to recognise the cause of her grief by divine insight, which he had acquired as a result of his penance.

He consoled his wife Aditi saying that nothing happens in the world without God’s will and people should go on doing their duties. He asked her to pray to Lord Narayana and taught her a vrata (ritual) to be followed strictly, known as Payovrata (milk ritual). It has to be observed from the twelfth day of the bright half of Karthika (suklapaksha dwadasi). She observed the vrata as prescribed. A devotee’s sincere prayer will never go waste. Since she carried out the vrata with a pious heart, Narayana appeared before her and informed her that He would Himself take birth in her womb and help Indra.

Aditi was very happy and true to the word of the Lord, she gave birth to a son of uncommon effulgence on the twelfth day of the bright half of the month of Bhadrapada. That child was Vamana Murthi. Even as a child He demonstrated His Divine power by doing marvelous deeds.

Amid changing scenarios and apparent threatening developments of global magnitude, he, one who is His true devotee is sure to follow Him with love and gratitude, knowing and understanding everything as His Divine Sport. Here, every looming threat that seems to endanger His creation becomes His own blind-fold game, a reminder from Him to His own images and reflections, you and me and everyone.

On that infinitely fateful day of 31st August 2008, Beloved Bhagawan, addressing a selected congregation of His White Army in Prasanthi Nilayam spoke of the Cosmic MahaMantra, ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ introducing the same, rephrasing the already existing one from the Vedic lore.

Addressing His folk of White Army,

A group of men of cadre and character,

Thus Spake Sai on 31st August 2008,

Inside the sacrosanct bhajan hall,

In The Cosmic Hub at Prasanthi Nilayam,

At Puttaparthi in the south of India.

He spoke on the greater need to pray for the many existing worlds…

Focusing on the intensified feeling of goodness for all…

Stressing on OneNess He intoned…

Birthing a new MahaMantra…

Rephrasing the existing one from the Vedic lore…

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, The Cosmic Monarch of time and beyond,

The Master Supreme averred then…

“Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu”

Blessings the worlds many with Peace n‘ Happiness.

Before it slips away, let’s reaffirm in ‘BOLD CAPITALS’ that we are duty-bound to follow our Beloved Master Supreme as our True Truth, as The Love behind our very existence, beingness. Let’s remember Him in The Now with absolute love and gratitude, for, He Alone Is…Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai!!!

[media id="I2" type="image" mediahost="http://www.sssbpt.org/images/2015/" url="SamasthaLokahSukhinoBhavantuApril2020_2.jpg"]

The Divine Whisper

A lady retired Professor who would frequently interact with one of her bright students had once sent some interesting literary, spiritual stuff to her student, ending the same aptly with ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’. The student, in turn, noticed the ‘error’ while returning the message. He wrote, “Madam, there is a mistake in your message that, you wrongly said, ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ instead of ‘Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu’.

Upon receiving the text, she smiled inward before replying. In response, she wrote: ‘My dear child, it was consciously and intentionally done, and thus was not a mistake, as the Mantra has originated from Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.’ She further added: ‘Anything that comes from Bhagawan has to be true and He, Bhagawan, is beyond any correction or judgement. He cannot be corrected.’

Narrating the incident, the professor said that, when the new Mantra was born out of Bhagawan in August 2008, there were many an argument in her circle about the same and one specific person, a so-called scholar, even went to the extent of saying, ‘actually there is no real difference between the two, the original one and the rephrased one.’

Why argue? A difference or no difference, nothing comes out of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai without reason. The Cosmic Creator, The Supreme Commander Of All of Creation, known and unknown worlds many, while delivering the Mantra averred thus:

“At the end of the bhajans, you are chanting ‘Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu’. It is great and expansive. As you chant this, you are thinking of only this world, in which you are living in, implying an individual feeling. This is not correct. It is ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’, which is an expansive, all-encompassing feeling, covering all the worlds.”

At a time when an invisible virus is virtually locking the entire globe down, with humanity staring at one of the worst of the crisis in the recent history, can man move a step forward envisioning a Silver Lining at the end of the tunnel, something every positivist can do with trust and faith in his Self, Godhood. For the Sai fraternity, the Silver Lining is ‘Sai…Sai…Sai’, or should we say ‘SaiRam… SaiRam… SaiRam’ and His promises, that He would always tell us, ‘Why Fear When I Am Here’. If alone we believe in His Supreme Godhood, to the extent of our faith and belief, He will reciprocate. Here, let’s remind ourselves, The Supreme Creator, intoning the MahaMantra by HimSelf, has already put His Sankalpa (resolve) of ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ for His creation at large.

At the most crucial time when Kali is raging to its peak, The Supreme Godhood introduced this MahaMantra as the panacea for all universal and cosmic maladies. Bhagawan, Who Is verily The Pulse of time, delivered it to the humans at the right time, for the man to use it most effectively.

The onus is on us, you and me… to follow His FootSteps, diligently.

Can we hear The Divine Whisper: “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu”!!!

II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

With the spirit of Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana on… how crucially important it is to take up the revised Cosmic MahaMantra, Born Of Bhagawan, as a way of life… before moving forward. A beautiful presentation on the Cosmic ‘Liberatory’ Theme called ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ by ‘The Prasanthi Reporter’.
Dear Sisters and Brothers…Loving Loving Sai Ram…Peace of the soul and Harmony for all! We are here to hear and connect to a distinctly selfless mantra. Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu.

As we have all seen, heard, read and witnessed our Beloved Bhagawan’s teachings and the examples set by Him, the welfare of all beings is what He stresses on…Consequently, on 31st August 2008, Bhagawan modified ‘Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu’ which interprets as – May all the beings in this world be happy and peaceful… to now be intoned as – Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu…that it may exude peace for all the beings in all the worlds.

Is it not imperative then that we chant this mantra for Universal peace?

[media id="I2" type="image" mediahost="http://www.sssbpt.org/images/2015/" url="samastha03.jpg"]

As we keep chanting this, the mantra becomes ‘us’ – universal seva. The bonus is that along with peace, this revives a feeling of brotherhood, camaraderie and the chorus of kindred oneness.

Beings of light did spring forth from the silence deep within the Lord’s heart and so we are all connected and never apart…for those beings are us all…

Many are the challenges faced by the individual, the society, and the world, and this is having serious repercussions on and is a constant threat to Mother Earth…a threat that is gathering enormous momentum…

We need to come together and help heal the world…

Thus, ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’, which is a Universal Prayer beyond boundaries of personal beliefs, will benefit all – from unseen beings to those seen…from mortals to animals to plants and trees…to marine life to birds to rivers, mountains and rocks…all the planets, all the lokaas…to every speck in the cosmos.

It has such a magnified effect, that not only will it encompass Mother Earth, but will also take in the whole Universe into its fold – an embrace of Cosmic proportions – A Cosmic Embrace…

‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ engulfs the elements five – Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth and brings about a balance ever so harmonious.

[media id="I3" type="image" mediahost="http://www.sssbpt.org/images/2015/" url="samastha04.jpg"]

Beloved Mother Sai, You always exhort us to adhere to Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema and Ahimsa. And through this chant, You, Beloved One, are teaching us to link Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema and thereby…evolve into Ahimsa.

Oh! Mother Sai, You are the Creator and the welfare of Your Creation is what pleases You the most.
Accept our prayer, Dearest One, that we may make this chant –‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ – our very breath and feel deeply for all living beings.

Let our lives be Your message…and Your compassion our mission…through this chant, which is luminous in nature, prolific in its reach and propitious, wholesome and divine in character.

You, Sweet Mother Sai, have always stressed that we chant ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’, accordingly, we now desire to make it our way of life, as it will make us go away from the ‘I’ to ‘We’ and finally into ‘You’…Oh Cherished Mother Sai.

To those of you listening to these lines just now, you are at the right place at the right time…for it is vitally essential that we chant this mantra for Universal Peace – both individually and collectively.

[media id="I4" type="image" mediahost="http://www.sssbpt.org/images/2015/" url="samastha02.jpg"]

And we have to start now.

Sit where you are, chant ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ and embrace the Cosmos, all sentient and insentient beings…without moving an inch.

The vibrations released by chanting it together will reach the Lord’s Heart and His bliss will reach us all, for what pleases Him is that we unite and live together in peace and harmony.

Let us help heal the world that our children will inherit…

‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’…will help you reach the real you…

Your life can then be a fragrant offering at the Lotus Feet of Beloved Mother Sai…
Dear Listener…we present variations of this mantra for all the beings in samastha lokahs…may your being resonate with each variation…may peace resound in the cosmos within you, may there be harmony around you…and may tranquillity surround you…for you are the Universe…and the Universe is You!

25th March 2011, the Divine Chariot cruised along on a carpet of adoration that distinctly flowed from every heart that had gathered in Sai Kulwant Hall that evening, for a glimpse of The Lord Supreme. All necks craned to view this Most Adored Form. Awe, exultation and deep reverence did exude forth embracing the ever-loving and living Godhood in human frame.

Oh! Lord, The thoughts that flit through the mind upon viewing Your Beloved Form, makes me realize that You Are that vital shade that soothes and refreshes even as life represents scorching rays of the Sun…Yet, when no longer visible, can we fathom or acknowledge what have we lost or comprehend/assess what have we received or gained…?”

The time that was to follow, the unfolding of His Divine plan and what necessitated it, was and is known only to the Beloved One…the unreserved shock, utter anguish and deep pain felt as He chose to hitherto withdraw the Cherished Form, could be overcome only by the downpour and surge of love His very Name brings forth.

As Beloved Bhagawan gave that most loving, lingering, everlasting, decisive and significant erstwhile Darshan as yet, He made all know – You are never alone but God’s very own… In fact, He silently whispers to the collective ear of humanity, that He Is The EverLasting OneNess!

[media id="I2" type="image" mediahost="http://www.sssbpt.org/images/2015/" url="SSSDMahotsavam2020.jpg"]

Come, join us in as Prasanthi Nilayam reminisces and recalls that ultimate public Darshan of The Beloved Supreme, thus far.

Prasanthi scripted a beautiful Darshan story this evening with Bhagawan emerging at 1915 hrs, coming for two full rounds of Darshan.

Completing the usual first round, Bhagawan soon moved into the ladies’ block again, continuing with a bonus round of Darshan. With Bhagawan stopping at the ‘primary school block’, the tiny tots had a wonderful time, feasting the ‘All-Loving…All-Encompassing Beauty’ gliding past. The little ones literally swarmed around Bhagawan’s car holding aloft greetings vying for His attention. One after one, each one of them sought blessings from Bhagawan before He moved into the ladies’ side, granting the bonus round of Darshan. A group from Alike, Muddenahalli institutions also received Bhagawan’s special attention during the round.

Coming on stage at 1930 hrs, Bhagawan sat for the next half-an-hour and bhajans turned intense. With Bhagawan joining, giving finger beats in between, the session turned out to be a delectable treat for the august assembly in the twilight.

Just two minutes short of 2000 hrs, Bhagawan asked for Mangala Arathi. Even as the Arathi was coming to an end, Bhagawan turned into a blessing mood, blessing the assembly profusely with double hand abhayahastha. Post the Arathi, before leaving the dais, once again His blessing right Palm went up, blessing the assembly again with Abhayahastha.

Soon Bhagawan left for Yajur Mandiram at 2005 hrs, retiring for the day.

Ms Rani Java, daughter of Mr C.L. Java, founder of the famed ‘Joy Ice Cream’, is such a living example of ‘absolute surrender’ that, every moment she lives her life in complete dedication to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. The following story has its root in an article published in Sanathana Sarathi, by Ms Rani Java.

Ms Rani Java was born as a perfectly healthy child, having a wonderful time until the age of four, when, as destiny would have it, the monster called polio paralysed her on the right side, leaving the child almost immovable. Bhagawan had visited Mumbai in 1960, and the little one had her first-ever darshan of ‘Baba’ in her uncle’s house, during the same trip. As a child, she felt a magical, magnetic pull towards Him. She was seated in the corner of a hall, almost immovable, but Bhagawan found His way unto her, amusing the little one with His bounty of love. He spared His priceless time with her, engaging the child with His natural affection.

Having paralysed completely, her father wanted her to get operated. Her father, Mr Java was more of a British style person, wealthy and influential and thus arranged a specialised doctor from Switzerland for the specified task. But, the little girl was firm and resolute, and never wanted to ‘go under the knife’, instead, she longed to meet her ‘Baba.’ She would lovingly address Him as ‘Baba’ those days. The father remained reluctant, but her mother stood by her, firm and resolute, finally bringing her to Prasanthi Nilayam.

Talking about her entry into Swami’s Feet in Prasanthi Nilayam, Rani Java says: “I am very grateful to my servant, who was such a great soul. We met Swami at Chitravathi, and…” Yes, this great soul literally’ threw this little girl at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet! The little one started crying. That was the cry of the little soul in Presence Of The Supreme Soul!!! Cosmic Love He Is With The Love Of Infinite Mothers, Bhagawan instantly grabbed her from His Lotus Feet, materialised some magical sweets, and appeased the agonising child in His own inimitable style.

He then turned towards the servant and asked him: “Why did you throw her on My Feet?” His reply was straight from his heart: “Swami, she is ‘absolutely’ lifeless; it is better if she gives up her life at Your Divine Feet. She is disabled. What will she do? She is a burden on society, on family, on everyone.” Speaking about this incident, Rani Java opens up, expressing her immense gratitude to this noble soul. ‘I am thankful to him as this brought me to Swami’s love and care. I was indeed lifeless; even to go to the washroom, the doctor had to come; I could do nothing because the right side was completely paralysed.’

Bhagawan’s response was something unique: “No, No…” saying so, He instantly patted the little one with great affection. Later, when her mother sought out Bhagwan’s blessing for the operation, Swami was firm, saying, “No, she can’t be operated; today they will cut her leg; tomorrow her right hand, then her left hand and her left leg, and then she will be living only with a limb. Don’t worry, don’t do the operation.”

Saying so, Bhagawan asked the mother to call up Mr Java (in those days, telephone service was an exclusive post office facility) informing that they would not be travelling to Bombay (Mumbai) for the operation. Upon hearing this update, Mr Java was upset and thus furious, as the doctor from Switzerland had already arrived in Mumbai, waiting. Till the time the doctor did not leave the Indian soil, Bhagawan made sure that the mother and daughter were ‘safe’ in ‘His custody.’ Once the doctor left, Swami permitted them to travel back to Mumbai.

An upset Mr Java greeted them back in Mumbai. Yet again, her mother prevailed upon, staying firm, thanks to her intense love and immense faith in Swami. ‘I am thankful to her, my mother, for if it was not for her resolve, I don’t know what I would have been today’ says a grateful Rani Java, speaking about her mother. The mother said, “It’s all right, now that the doctor has gone back, why are you getting upset? We have gone to so many doctors; we will see what happens.” Recalling her childhood passion for Swami as she could gather from her parents later, she says, ‘It seems, as a child, I always had a great yearning for Swami. So, my mother again brought me to Swami. This way, I used to come to Swami nearly every month.’

The little one was especially privileged to go up to Bhagawan’s dining room in Prasanthi Mandir upstairs, carrying His food. Having this physical disability, she used to be the last one to go up. As soon as she would have reached, Swami would send all other children downstairs, asking the little one alone to stay back. Then He would feed her with ‘His Own Hand’ and would apply Vibhuti every day on her leg. Swami would speak to her in an encouraging tone, “You start walking in Parthi; don’t worry; you will fall, and every fall of yours will be with blood. Puttaparthi will be soaking with your blood; You will get fresh blood, and you will become all right.”

‘I had complete faith in Swami and started walking, falling, walking, falling,’ echoes a grateful Rani Java. Over a period, with Swami’s immense love, she started walking independently. She was into a convent those days, in Mumbai. The principal and teachers, though were nuns, would respect Swami because they could observe a significant change in her.

Those days, the Puttaparthi Mandir was under renovation, and thus Bhagwan was in Brindavan. He used to send word for them. Swami would instruct: “Java, whenever there is a long weekend, send her and her brother to Brindavan.” Divinely sanctioned, she along with her brother would travel to Brindavan during weekends and holidays, at will. ‘I hardly remember having spent any part of my childhood with my parents; I remember spending most of my childhood with Swami, with Swami’s mother, Mother Easwaramma, Swami’s sister, and Swami’s family,’ records Ms Java.

‘Whatever I wanted, I would look up to Swami and not to my father. He was more to me like a Father and Friend.’ Once Swami said, “Pakoda, you don’t have friends. I will be your Best Friend.” I said, “Yes, Swami.” Her relationship with Bhagawan, as a tiny tot, was a ‘Divinely Amusing’ one, with herself enjoying complete freedom to share with Him anything and everything that she ever wanted. ‘After all, He was my Friend. I never realised or thought that He was God. For me, Swami was my Friend.’

(Ms Rani Java is a Management Consultant by profession and is an old-time devotee of Bhagawan.)

Truly, all that He speaks become Truth, for He Is verily Truth in human form… Who can fathom the mysterious mystery of The Master Supreme, Who plays His cards at an all-encompassing… supra-conscious level, far…far…way far…beyond any human imagination??? For an earnest seeker, every single moment with Him is a revealing moment… revealing His endless mystery… that is often done in His most inimitable style. A flashback into a beautiful December evening in 1995, with Swami and His students, wherein the last but one batch of Masters in English Literature students at SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam, had this profound Sai-tale of experience.

“Name the book, SAI VANI”, Swami told the students on 28th of December, 1995. But that is not the complete story. The students had assembled in the Mandir that evening with a photograph of Bhagawan and the list of contents of the book. They had sent a letter to Swami that afternoon regarding the book. On seeing the boys carrying the paraphernalia in a tray, Bhagawan gave a curious and mischievous smile.

The occasional glances and smiles continued till some of the boys started wondering if Swami would come near them at all.

At last, Swami came, asking, “What is that?”

The students told about the book and pleaded Swami to suggest a name.

“Peru Enduku?” (Why Name?) Then Swami asked, “Did you think of any name?”

“No, Swami”, the boys replied in a chorus, “You have to give the name”

Graciously, Swami said, “Sai Vani Pettandi” (Name it Sai Vani). “Please write it with Your Own Hands Swami”, pleaded the students.

“No, No” said Bhagawan and moved away. He would have gone a few steps before He paused. Sensing that Swami may agree to bless the book by writing down the name, a few students went up to Swami and gave Him the photograph and the list of contents.

Swami gently wrote: “Sathya Vani”, and after a moment’s pause, He said, “Oh I have written ‘Sathya Vani’ instead of ‘Sai Vani’. Well, Sai Vani is better. Name the book Sai Vani”…. and thus the christening of the book left a mirthful impression on the students assembled there.

She once asked me with all-motherly concern and virtuous wisdom, and with all-out love for her ‘Beloved Mother Sai’… reposing faith in His pronouncements…, ‘have you ever understood the purport of the Mantra, Samastha Lokah…, that Bhagawan modified and given to us.’ Until that moment, it was yet another happening in His Presence, worthy of announcing to the world, though I was very much personally seated in The Mighty Presence, watching the transition. …And ever-since this ‘motherly nod’, it has been a different journey for me, understanding the purport in letter and spirit.

The day was Sunday, 31 August 2008… the venue was Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai’s sacrosanct Prasanthi Nilayam, to be precise, hallowed Bhajan Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam. The congregation was that of 150 odd ‘former students’ of ‘Bhagawan’ employed at various Sri Sathya Sai institutions, in Prasanthi Nilayam – Puttaparthi, Brindavan, Muddenahalli, etc. … and The Host Was the ‘Infinitely Divine’, The Lord Supreme, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai.

That blessed afternoon inside the Bhajan Hall, The Lord Supreme moved amongst them, attending ‘everyone’, glancing, smiling, speaking, chiding, …granting HimSelf out and out. As the session was coming to a grand-closure, He ‘gathered’ HimSelf in the center stage for a ‘talk’, flanked by the entire lot like a swarm of bees on a honeycomb. In His inimitable style, He started revealing something infinitely profound, a would-be-revision of the Maha Mantra, ‘Lokah Samastha… ’ that comes from the Vedic lore.

Thus Spake Sai then: “At the end of the bhajans, you are chanting ‘Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu’. It is great and expansive. As you chant this, you are thinking of only this world, in which you are living in, implying an individual feeling. This is not correct. It is ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’, which is an expansive, all-encompassing feeling, covering all the worlds.” Saying so, He asked His ‘swarm of bees’ to intone after Him the revised format…and thus, for the first time in ‘His Story’ and in the history of His creation, the new Maha Mantra reverberated … ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’.

Perplexed and having no clue, the world outside the ‘hall’ was caught unaware of, listening to the booming echo from The Ultimate Presence. Further, Bhagawan asked the ‘boys’ to commence the official chanting from the next ‘holy’ Thursday, 4th September! ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’ is the elixir for all, all that needs to be set right, at all levels, in all the worlds… truly, the ‘Elixir Divine’ for His creation at large.

Why ‘Samastha Lokah…?’ and what is Its added significance?? …and why this transition from ‘Lokah Samastha…‘ into ‘Samastha Lokah…’??? What, Why and many a question can be raised by many minds that dwell in doubts and resort to arguments, but the very fact that the Maha Mantra was borne of The Lord Supreme, in His natural flow sans any pretense, negates all arguments, simply surrendering to His Will Supreme. Does not The Mother know the need of Her child?

If the Maha Mantra was introduced by Bhagawan with His Divine Sankalpa (resolve) of Cosmic, all-embracing expansion, Samastha Lokah… does cover anything and everything, most unconditionally, rightfully endorsing the legacy of Sri Sathya Sai, that being Love… all-embracing Love…Unconditional Love… Love That Conquers… simply L-O-V-E!!!

“Samastha Lokah…” is undoubtedly the One-off Universal Maha Mantra that claims credit to Its being from Bhagawan in His physical form. Most of the other Mantras claim their origin from the Vedic time, perceived internally by great and elevated souls. …And such a Maha Mantra that claims its origin from the Divine Resolve Of the Supreme-Most Avatar, One Who Is hailed as Sarvadevathaatheetha Swarupa, (The Divine Form beyond all other forms) must be power-packed with Intention Of That WholeSome Divinity – The Supreme Resolve.

What could be this power-packed intention from human perception? The Supreme Lord, from Whose Resolve sprang out this vast creation that includes human beings, made humans, the highest of beings concerning conscious expansion, in His own image… and thus, does want humans to rise to His level of vastness… expansion… becoming That… by Becoming and thus Be, His True Self, Embodiment of Love. This is clear from His ‘own’ words, wherein He spelled out God’s single-most desire in no uncertain terms….

Concluding His Dasara Divine discourse in 2009, Bhagawan spoke thus:

“God illumines the entire universe as the Atma Tatwa (Innate Divine Principle) immanent in all the living beings and objects. Even though God may appear to be involved in so many activities in the world, it is verily for the pleasure of His devotees. He has no desire of His own. He has only one desire – Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu!”

This Mantra stands as the Mantra beyond all other Mantras… as it is completely selfless and cosmically vast… Pointing to His physical body, He said once that, He Is ‘top-to-toe’ selfless. Indeed, it can be rightly perceived that this Supreme Lord, Who created man in His own image, does ‘desire’ man to be unmade and remade as His own, reflecting The Truth beyond all truths, The Essential Sai Para Brahmam.

At a time when Kali is raging to its peak, The Supreme Godhood introduced this Maha Mantra as the panacea for all universal and cosmic maladies. Bhagawan, Who Is verily The Pulse of time, delivered it to the humans at the right time, for him to use it most effectively.

Anyone who tries this Mantra with an innate feeling of Love is sure to experience EXPANSION soon… and thus entitled to ‘Become and Be’, becoming One With Him… The Master Supreme! Sri Sathya Sai – The ‘True’ SadhGuru!!!

Can we hear The Divine Whisper: “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu”!!!

As Bhagawan HimSelf has said many a time, if at all you want to call Me by some name, call Me Prema Swaroopa. Sai’s Love, the Absolute Purest form of Love that can ever be, is so perfect and blemish-less that with His Love and Love alone that He conquers the hearts of all. Every preceding Avatar has come with one weapon or insignia of Their own. For instance, Lord Sri Ramachandra had brought with Him the Kodanda, the Divine bow and arrow; Bhagawan Sri Krishna His Chakra, the Divine discus. In that accord, what weapon has Lord Sai Rama, this Sathya Sai Avatar come with? His Supreme, all-conquering Love is His only Divine weapon. Sri Sathya Sai’s Love conquers the unconquerable inner foes, which otherwise cannot be conquered so effectively and easily.

The Love that flows unceasingly, like the celestial Ganga, the Sai Prema Ganga flows uninterrupted towards one and all sans any discrimination, filling all the gaps and embracing all, no matter who or what we are. Mother Sai, with His Absolute flawless unsullied Love, accepts anyone as he or she is, with all limitations and shortcomings, as Mother Sai Is verily The Universal Mother Supreme.

The Supreme Divine Love of Sai inspires, motivates and encourages one and all, to transform oneself and become a better person by all means. Swami has forever been giving and forgiving. His Love is so purifying and reassuring that we are so enthused and inspired to become verily Sai ourselves. Once touched by the Divine Supreme Love of The Cosmic Mother Sai, it is impossible for anyone to resist that Love…All-encompassing. After having said ‘Yes’ to Mother Sai and Her Love That Conquers, we become powerless to resort to our old habits and practices that do not fit the new us. We pleasantly undergo the entire process of unmaking and remaking in the Divine Hands of Sai. The life experiences of every Sai devotee across the globe is a classic testimony to this Truth.

Does the physical absence of Sai make any difference at all when it comes to experiencing His Love? No doubt we miss our Beloved Bhagawan’s most beatific form and the utmost enthralling blissful experience of ‘The Beauty Beyond Compare’ – His Divine Darshans, what can be best termed as Sri Sathya Sai Darshana Mahotsavam!!! Nevertheless, we have been immensely blessed by our Beloved Bhagawan with His priceless legacy of His Pure Love. With the greatest treasure of boundless Sai Love, we have absolutely no reason to fear or worry about being lost in this temporary, transient world of dualities, for our Ever-Living, OmniScient, OmniPotent and OmniPresent Sai Is ever around us, ready to wrap us within His orbit of Supreme Love. So long as we hold on to The Divine Lotus Feet, cherishing Sai in every single thought, dedicating every microsecond to our Beloved Mother Sai and being fully functional in the Name of Sai, offering every single thought word and deed to Him, thereby transforming mundane Karma into Karma Yoga, we can breeze through this purification process without any difficulty.

It is the Love of Sai that burns, that purifies, breaks our Ego Empire brick by brick, in the meantime unmaking us completely, just to be remade all anew in the likes of Sai. We gain so much fortitude, forbearance, courage and self-confidence that illusion and disillusionment become a thing of the past. With the Supreme Ultimate Wisdom of Oneness, gained in the Light of Love of Sai, we begin to see this Creation through the Sai Lens. So all and everything appears clearly as the mirror reflection of The Absolute One, Para Brahman – Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. There is no more duality and distraction of me and others. All that exists is the Absolute One.

The flame of Love burning within our hearts and souls help us and all around us to tread the path of perfection, embracing The Oneness, which essentially is Liberation. As Swami becomes our sole, soul motto, there are no more petty desires and dualities. The one and only desire is to continue to experience the self-same Oneness all through and become one with the Very Source of Ever Shining Brilliant Light and All-Abiding Love, Prema Swaroopa Sai and eventually transmute into That, The Eternal Para Brahma Sai, from Whom Is our origin and unto Whom do we return.

His Was The Love That Ever Was… The Love That Ever Is… And The Love That Ever Will Be… Love That Conquers!!!

Announcing the dismissal of Maya, announcing His True Truth, Sathya, The ‘little’ Divine at 14, bestowed upon the humanity the first blessing and in fact, the Ultimate Blessing… Prayer For Liberation, Manasa Bhajare… While revisiting the epochal happening on the 20th October 1940, man should ponder upon as to what does The Mantra entail? It is simpler than the simplest. The mind that serves as a mirror for the individual jeeva need to be purified with the everlasting presence of the Guru, The SadhGuru, Who Is nothing but the purest feeling of I Am…SAI…I Am… Bhagawan says, the ‘I’ represents The Brahmam, and He…Sathya Sai Is the very Source of this Brahmam…Para Brahmam…The True Truth, The Absolute!!! It is this Truth that the then 14 year old ‘Little Divine’ pronounced to you and me and to one and all, to His creation at large! The Mantra that becomes the essence of human life, that contains the Secret For Liberation!

A recap of the epochal happening on the Annunciation Day, as penned by Prof N. Kasturi.

On the 20th day of October, 1940, the day after they all returned from Hampi by special bus, Sathyanarayana started for school as usual. The Excise Inspector of the place, Sri Anjaneyulu who was very much attached to the little Baba, accompanied Him, as far as the school gate and went home, rather reluctantly. He seemed to see a superb halo, round the face of Baba that day and he could not take his eyes away from that enchantment. Within a few minutes, Baba too turned back to the house. Standing on the outer doorstep, he cast aside the books He was carrying and called out, “I Am no longer your Sathya.” “I Am Sai.” The sister-in-law came from the kitchen and peeped out; she was almost blinded by the splendour of the halo, which she saw around Baba’s head! She closed her eyes and shrieked. Baba addressed her, “I Am going; I don’t belong to you: Maya has gone; My bhaktas are calling Me; I have My Work; I can’t stay any longer.” And, so saying, He turned back and left in spite of her pleadings. The brother hurried home on hearing all this; but, Baba only told him, “Give up all your efforts to ‘cure’ Me; I Am Sai; I do not consider MySelf related to you.” Neighbour Sri Narayana Sastri heard the noise; he listened and realised that it was something serious; he ran in; he saw the splendour of the ‘halo’ and fell at Baba’s Feet. He too heard the Historic Declaration, “Maya has left; I Am going; My work is waiting.”

Seshama Raju was nonplussed; he could scarce collect his wits to meet this new situation. A boy, just fourteen, talking of bhaktas, work, maya, and the philosophy of belonging! He could think of only one plan: Sathya was entrusted to him by the parents and it was therefore his task to inform them; Sathya could leave the house, only after they came to Uravakonda.

But, Sathya would not step into that building again; He moved out into the garden of Excise Inspector’s Bungalow, and sat on a rock, in the midst of the trees. People came into the garden from all directions bringing flowers and fruits; the tope resounded to the voices of hundreds, singing in chorus the lines that Sathya Sai taught them. The first prayer that He taught them that day was, as many still remember,

Maanasa bhajare GuruCharanam
Dusthara bhava saagara tharanam

“Meditate in thy mind on The Feet of The Guru; that can take you across the difficult sea of samsara.”

His classmates wept when they heard that Sathya will no longer attend school, that He was much beyond their reach, that His company was hereafter only for those upon whom He showers His Grace. Many came to the garden with incense and camphor, to worship Him. Some came to sympathise with the family, some to congratulate them. Some came to learn and some, alas, even to laugh!

Three days passed thus in that garden; three days of bhajan and namasankirthan. A photographer came with a camera; he wanted Baba to remove a crude stone that was right in front of Him but Baba did not pay heed to that prayer. He clicked nevertheless and lo! As can be seen ‘above’, the stone had become an image of Shirdi Sai Baba! But only in the photograph, not for all assembled there.

II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II
